في حادثة غريبة خسرت امرأة أسترالية تدير شركة صغيرة تُدعى «Pilates World Australia» مبلغاً ضخماً قُدّر بـ50 ألف دولار، بسبب صورة نشرتها لكلابها على «إنستغرام» وفقاً لصحيفة «ديلي ميل».
روتشيل ماريناتو صُدمت عندما تلقت إشعاراً من شركة «Meta» يفيد بتعليق حساباتها نهائيّاً بدعوى «مخالفة إرشادات المجتمع المتعلقة باستغلال الأطفال».
الخطأ الفادح ارتكبه نظام الذكاء الاصطناعي التابع لـ«إنستغرام» الذي خلط بين صورة الكلاب وصورة أطفال، ورغم إرسالها 22 استئنافاً لم تتلقَّ ماريناتو أي رد بشري، واضطُرت لدفع مبلغ لطرف ثالث لاستعادة حساباتها.
وخلال ثلاثة أسابيع من التجميد انخفضت مبيعاتها بنسبة 75%.. «كل شيء توقف فجأة» تقول ماريناتو مؤكدة أن التواصل الاجتماعي هو شريان الحياة لشركتها.. وتابعت: «كان اتهاما مقززاً، والذكاء الاصطناعي أخطأ تقدير الموقف تماماً.. إنه أمر مخيف».
ورغم الخسائر الفادحة تأمل ماريناتو أن تعود شركتها إلى مسارها، لكن بعد هذا الدرس القاسي لم تعد تثق بالتكنولوجيا كما قبل.

Rochelle Marinato was shocked when she received a notification from "Meta" stating that her accounts had been permanently suspended for "violating community guidelines regarding child exploitation."
The grave mistake was made by Instagram's artificial intelligence system, which confused the image of the dogs with a photo of children. Despite sending 22 appeals, Marinato received no human response and was forced to pay a third party to recover her accounts.
During the three weeks of the freeze, her sales dropped by 75%. "Everything stopped suddenly," Marinato says, emphasizing that social media is the lifeblood of her business. She added, "It was a disgusting accusation, and the AI completely misjudged the situation... It's frightening."
Despite the significant losses, Marinato hopes her company will get back on track, but after this harsh lesson, she no longer trusts technology as she did before.
