فرّ سجين من سجن ليون-كوربا في جنوب شرق فرنسا بطريقة غريبة، بعدما اختبأ داخل حقيبة زميل له كان يُفرج عنه، في حادثة أكدتها السلطات الفرنسية.
وبحسب ما أفادت به وسائل إعلام فرنسية، استغل السجين لحظة إطلاق سراح زميله ليخفي نفسه داخل حقيبته، ويغادر السجن دون أن يتم اكتشافه.
وقالت إدارة السجن لوكالة الأنباء الفرنسية: «لقد استغل إطلاق سراح زميله ليختبئ في أمتعته ويخرج».
وأشارت تقارير إلى أن السجين الفار كان يقضي عدة أحكام بالسجن، ويخضع أيضاً لتحقيق في قضية تتعلق بالجريمة المنظمة. وقد فتحت النيابة العامة تحقيقاً قضائياً بتهمة «الفرار في إطار عصابة منظمة وتآمر إجرامي».
وتسلّط هذه الحادثة الضوء مجدداً على الظروف في سجن ليون-كوربا، حيث كشفت تقارير أن عدد النزلاء بلغ نحو 1200 سجين في الأول من مايو 2025، رغم أن القدرة الاستيعابية الرسمية لا تتجاوز 678، بحسب قناة BFMTV. وكانت نقابة المحامين في ليون قد دقت ناقوس الخطر الشهر الماضي محذرة من الاكتظاظ ونقص الكوادر.
وتأتي هذه الواقعة بعد أسابيع فقط من هجوم دامٍ استهدف شاحنة لنقل السجناء في منطقة نورماندي، وأسفر عن مقتل اثنين من عناصر الحراسة، ما أدى إلى مراجعة شاملة لإجراءات الأمن في السجون الفرنسية.
ولم تكشف السلطات بعد إن كان هناك أي موظفين في السجن يخضعون للتحقيق بسبب الاشتباه في الإهمال أو التواطؤ، بينما لا يزال البحث جارياً عن السجين الهارب.
A prisoner escaped from Lyon-Corbas prison in southeastern France in a strange manner, after hiding inside the bag of a fellow inmate who was being released, in an incident confirmed by French authorities.
According to French media reports, the prisoner took advantage of the moment his colleague was released to hide himself inside the bag and leave the prison undetected.
The prison administration told the French news agency: "He took advantage of his colleague's release to hide in his belongings and exit."
Reports indicated that the escaped prisoner was serving multiple sentences and was also under investigation in a case related to organized crime. The public prosecutor's office has opened a judicial investigation on charges of "escaping as part of an organized gang and criminal conspiracy."
This incident once again highlights the conditions at Lyon-Corbas prison, where reports revealed that the number of inmates reached around 1,200 on May 1, 2025, despite the official capacity not exceeding 678, according to BFMTV. The Lyon Bar Association had sounded the alarm last month, warning of overcrowding and a lack of staff.
This incident comes just weeks after a deadly attack targeted a prisoner transport truck in the Normandy region, resulting in the deaths of two guards, leading to a comprehensive review of security procedures in French prisons.
Authorities have not yet revealed whether any prison staff are under investigation for suspected negligence or complicity, while the search for the escaped prisoner is still ongoing.
