أعلنت المكسيك احتجاز طائرة صغيرة في مدينة كوليما غربي البلاد، قالت إنها قادمة من السلفادور ويقودها تجار مخدرات وتحمل مئات الكيلوغرامات من الكوكايين، مما أثار أزمة دبلوماسية بين البلدين.
وصرح وزير الأمن المكسيكي عمر غارسيا حرفوش في مؤتمر صحفي، أن الطائرة انطلقت من السلفادور قبل أن يتم اعتراضها في كوليما.
لكن السلفادور استدعت سفيرتها في المكسيك، وطالبت حكومة مكسيكو سيتي بتوضيح تصريحات الوزير.
وفي منشور على منصة «إكس»، وصف رئيس السلفادور نجيب بوكيلي المعلومات التي أدلى بها حرفوش بأنها «كاذبة».
وقال: «حلقت الطائرة فوق المحيط الهادئ ولم تلمس أراضي السلفادور».
وأشار بوكيلي إلى أن الرجال الثلاثة الذين تم اعتقالهم من الطائرة مواطنون مكسيكيون.
وكتب بوكيلي: «السلفادور لا توفر ملاذاً للمجرمين ولا تتسامح مع تهريب المخدرات. لم نفعل ذلك من قبل ولن نفعله الآن».
ووفقاً للمكسيك، ألقي القبض على الرجال الثلاثة الذين كانوا على متن الطائرة، وصودرت 427 كيلوغراماً من الكوكايين بعد هبوط الطائرة في كوليما.
ولم يتضح حتى وقت متأخر من مساء الأربعاء ما إذا كانت السفيرة روزا دلمي كانياس غادرت المكسيك أو لا.
Mexico announced the seizure of a small plane in the city of Colima in the west of the country, stating that it was coming from El Salvador and was piloted by drug traffickers, carrying hundreds of kilograms of cocaine, which has sparked a diplomatic crisis between the two countries.
Mexican Security Minister Omar Garcia Harfuch stated at a press conference that the plane took off from El Salvador before being intercepted in Colima.
However, El Salvador summoned its ambassador to Mexico and demanded that the Mexico City government clarify the minister's statements.
In a post on the platform "X," El Salvador's President Nayib Bukele described the information provided by Harfuch as "false."
He said: "The plane flew over the Pacific Ocean and did not touch Salvadoran territory."
Bukele pointed out that the three men who were arrested from the plane are Mexican citizens.
Bukele wrote: "El Salvador does not provide refuge for criminals and does not tolerate drug trafficking. We have never done that before and we will not do it now."
According to Mexico, the three men on board the plane were arrested, and 427 kilograms of cocaine were seized after the plane landed in Colima.
It was not clear until late Wednesday evening whether Ambassador Rosa Delmy Canias had left Mexico or not.
