أعلن وزير الاتصالات وتكنولوجيا المعلومات المصري الدكتور عمرو طلعت، عودة كافة خدمات الاتصالات بشكل تدريجى خلال 24 ساعة - بعد حريق سنترال رمسيس الذي خلف ضحايا وتسبب في تضرر خدمات الإنترنت والهواتف، موضحا أنه تم نقل كافة الخدمات إلى أكثر من سنترال ليعملوا كشبكة بديلة.
وبحسب بيان صادر عن وزارة الاتصالات، الحريق اندلع داخل إحدى صالات الطابق المخصص لاستضافة مشغلي الاتصالات، والذي يضم صالات منفصلة لكل مشغل، وقد امتد الحريق إلى الأدوار الأخرى نتيجة لشدته، كما تجدر الإشارة إلى أن جميع صالات الأجهزة الخاصة بالشركة المصرية للاتصالات مؤمنة بإجراءات أمنية وأنظمة إطفاء ذاتية.
ونفى وزير الاتصالات أن تكون مصر معتمدة على سنترال رمسيس فقط كمركز رئيسي لخدمات الاتصالات، وقال: لا يوجد سنترال واحد فقط تعتمد عليه مصر وسنترال رمسيس سيظل خارج الخدمة لأيام ومع ذلك ستعود الخدمات بشكل تدريجي بعد ما تم نقل كافة الخدمات التي توجد في سنترال رمسيس إلى أكثر من سنترال.
وأضاف أن معظم الخدمات الحيوية تعمل بشكل طبيعي في أغلب المحافظات مثل النجدة والمطافي والإسعاف ومنظومة تقديم الخبز والمطارات والموانئ والمرافق الحيوية، وبعض الخدمات في عدد من المحافظات المحدودة ظهرت بها أعطال يتم التعامل معها لاستعادتها خلال صباح اليوم.
وشدد الدكتور عمرو طلعت، على أنه يتم متابعة الموقف أولا بأول؛ موجها نحو سرعة الانتهاء من أعمال الإصلاح واستعادة خدمات الاتصالات المتأثرة في أسرع وقت، وحصر المستخدمين المتضررين واتخاذ الإجراءات اللازمة لتعويضهم.
وقطع الوزير زيارته الرسمية إلى الخارج والعودة إلى القاهرة لمتابعة تطورات الحادث، والوقوف على حجم الأضرار الناجمة عنه، والاطلاع على التدابير الفنية المتخذة لضمان استمرار تقديم خدمات الاتصالات للمواطنين، والحد من تداعيات الحريق، وكذلك الاطمئنان على سلامة المصابين.
وتفقد وزير الاتصالات، فجر اليوم، مبنى سنترال رمسيس بوسط القاهرة؛ وذلك لمتابعة تداعيات الحادث، وعمليات السيطرة على الحريق، كما اطلع على الجهود المبذولة لاستعادة خدمات الاتصالات التي تأثرت جراء الحريق الذي اندلع عصر أمس داخل السنترال التابع للشركة المصرية للاتصالات، ونتج عنه تأثر بعض خدمات الاتصالات خلال الساعات الماضية.
كما قام بزيارة عدد من المستشفيات التي تم نقل المصابين في الحادث إليها وهم المنيرة، ودار الفؤاد، وصيدناوي، والقبطي، للاطمئنان على الحالة الصحية للمصابين ووجه بسرعة توفير كل سبل الدعم والرعاية اللازمة لهم.
وقدم خالص التعازي والمواساة لأسر ضحايا الحريق من المتوفين، ولقيادات الشركة المصرية للاتصالات والعاملين بها، في شهداء الواجب الذين فقدوا أرواحهم أثناء تأدية مهمات عملهم داخل مبنى السنترال.
The Egyptian Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Dr. Amr Talaat, announced the gradual return of all communication services within 24 hours following the Ramses Central fire, which resulted in casualties and caused damage to internet and phone services. He clarified that all services have been transferred to more than one central office to operate as an alternative network.
According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Communications, the fire broke out inside one of the halls on the floor designated for hosting telecommunications operators, which includes separate halls for each operator. The fire spread to other floors due to its intensity. It is worth noting that all halls containing equipment belonging to the Egyptian Telecommunications Company are secured with security measures and automatic extinguishing systems.
The Minister of Communications denied that Egypt relies solely on Ramses Central as the main hub for communication services, stating: "There is not just one central office that Egypt depends on, and Ramses Central will remain out of service for days; however, services will gradually return after transferring all services that were in Ramses Central to more than one central office."
He added that most vital services are operating normally in most governorates, such as emergency services, firefighting, ambulances, the bread distribution system, airports, ports, and essential utilities. Some services in a limited number of governorates have experienced outages that are being addressed to restore them by this morning.
Dr. Amr Talaat emphasized that the situation is being monitored continuously, directing a swift completion of repair work and the restoration of affected communication services as quickly as possible, while also identifying affected users and taking necessary measures to compensate them.
The minister cut short his official visit abroad and returned to Cairo to follow up on the developments of the incident, assess the extent of the damages caused, and review the technical measures taken to ensure the continued provision of communication services to citizens and mitigate the consequences of the fire, as well as to check on the safety of the injured.
This morning, the Minister of Communications inspected the Ramses Central building in downtown Cairo to monitor the aftermath of the incident and the firefighting operations. He also reviewed the efforts being made to restore communication services that were affected by the fire that broke out yesterday afternoon inside the central office belonging to the Egyptian Telecommunications Company, which resulted in the impact on some communication services in the past hours.
He also visited several hospitals where the injured from the incident were transferred, including Al-Munira, Dar Al-Fouad, Saydnaya, and the Coptic Hospital, to check on the health status of the injured and directed that all necessary support and care be provided to them promptly.
He extended his heartfelt condolences and sympathy to the families of the victims of the fire, to the leadership of the Egyptian Telecommunications Company, and to its employees, mourning the duty martyrs who lost their lives while performing their work duties inside the central building.
