اندلع حريق ضخم في مبنى سنترال رمسيس، أحد أبرز المباني التجارية في قلب العاصمة المصرية القاهرة، مما تسبب في حالة من الذعر بين المارة والعاملين في المنطقة الحيوية، إذ تصاعدت ألسنة اللهب والدخان الكثيف من المبنى، ما أدى إلى توقف الحركة المرورية في محيط ميدان رمسيس، وهو أحد أكثر الميادين ازدحامًا في العاصمة.
وتلقت غرفة عمليات الحماية المدنية بمديرية أمن القاهرة بلاغًا عاجلاً يفيد بنشوب الحريق في الطابق الثالث من المبنى، الذي يضم مكاتب تجارية وخدمية، وعلى الفور، هرعت أكثر من 10 سيارات إطفاء إلى موقع الحادثة، مدعومة بفرق إنقاذ متخصصة، وتمكنت من السيطرة على الحريق بعد ساعات من الجهود المكثفة.
ووفقًا لمصادر رسمية، لم يتم الإبلاغ عن إصابات أو خسائر في الأرواح، لكن الأضرار المادية كانت كبيرة، إذ التهمت النيران عددًا من المكاتب والمعدات، وكشفت التحقيقات الأولية أن الحريق نجم عن ماس كهربائي في أحد الكابلات الرئيسية بالمبنى، مما أدى إلى اشتعال النيران بسرعة نظرًا لوجود مواد قابلة للاشتعال، وأفادت مصادر مطلعة أن نظام الإطفاء الداخلي في المبنى لم يكن فعالاً بالشكل الكافي، مما زاد من صعوبة السيطرة على الحريق في بدايته.
وفرضت الأجهزة الأمنية طوقًا أمنيًا حول الموقع، ومنعت المارة من الاقتراب لتسهيل عمل قوات الحماية المدنية وحماية المدنيين، كما تم إخلاء المباني المجاورة كإجراء احترازي لتجنب أي مخاطر محتملة. وشهدت المنطقة ازدحامًا مروريًا كبيرًا، وتم تحويل حركة السير إلى طرق بديلة.
وبدأت النيابة العامة تحقيقاتها العاجلة للوقوف على أسباب الحادثة، إذ انتقل فريق من خبراء الأدلة الجنائية لمعاينة الموقع وتقييم الأضرار. كما تم التحفظ على كاميرات المراقبة لتفريغ تسجيلاتها، واستدعاء عدد من العاملين والشهود للاستماع إلى أقوالهم.
وتُعد منطقة رمسيس من أكثر المناطق حيوية في القاهرة، إذ تضم العديد من المباني التجارية والمكاتب الحكومية، وسبق أن شهدت المنطقة حوادث مماثلة، منها حريق مبنى تجاري في شارع الجمهورية في يوليو 2025، وحريق آخر في سنترال رمسيس عام 2015.
وأشار شهود عيان، عبر منشورات على منصة إكس، إلى أن الحريق تسبب في حالة من الفوضى، حيث هرع العاملون في المبنى للخروج وسط تصاعد الدخان الكثيف. كما أعرب عدد من المواطنين عن قلقهم من تكرار مثل هذه الحوادث في مناطق مزدحمة مثل رمسيس، مطالبين بتشديد الرقابة على الأنظمة الكهربائية في المباني القديمة.

The Civil Protection Operations Room at the Cairo Security Directorate received an urgent report indicating that the fire had started on the third floor of the building, which houses commercial and service offices. Immediately, more than 10 firefighting vehicles rushed to the scene, supported by specialized rescue teams, and they managed to control the fire after hours of intensive efforts.
According to official sources, no injuries or loss of life were reported, but the material damages were significant, as the flames consumed several offices and equipment. Preliminary investigations revealed that the fire was caused by an electrical short circuit in one of the main cables in the building, which led to the rapid spread of flames due to the presence of flammable materials. Informed sources indicated that the building's internal fire suppression system was not sufficiently effective, which increased the difficulty of controlling the fire in its early stages.
Security forces imposed a security cordon around the site, preventing passersby from approaching to facilitate the work of the civil protection forces and protect civilians. The neighboring buildings were evacuated as a precautionary measure to avoid any potential risks. The area witnessed significant traffic congestion, and traffic was diverted to alternative routes.
The Public Prosecution has begun its urgent investigations to determine the causes of the incident, as a team of forensic experts moved to inspect the site and assess the damages. Surveillance cameras were seized to review their recordings, and several workers and witnesses were summoned to provide their statements.
The Ramses area is one of the most vibrant areas in Cairo, housing many commercial buildings and government offices. The area has previously witnessed similar incidents, including a fire in a commercial building on Republic Street in July 2025, and another fire in Ramses Central in 2015.
Eyewitnesses, through posts on the X platform, indicated that the fire caused chaos, as workers in the building rushed to escape amidst the thick smoke. Many citizens expressed their concern about the recurrence of such incidents in crowded areas like Ramses, calling for stricter oversight of electrical systems in old buildings.
