في حادثة هي الأولى من نوعها في باكستان، استنفرت الشرطة في لاهور أجهزتها الأمنية لملاحقة أسد هارب من مالكه بعد حالة من الذعر عاشتها المدينة الواقعة في شرق البلاد جراء مهاجمة الأسد الهارب امرأة وطفلين في حادثة وثقتها كاميرات المراقبة.
وعرضت لقطات الفيديو الأسد وهو يقفز من فوق سور منزل مالكه ثم يطارد امرأة كانت تسير في الشارع ليلاً، لينقض عليها ويطرحها أرضاً، قبل أن يتمكن أحد المارة من إنقاذ المرأة وتخليصها من الأسد.
وسارع أحد المارة إلى ضرب الأسد بزجاجة، ما أخافه ودفعه للابتعاد عن المرأة التي نهضت بسرعة وفرّت من المكان، ثم تابع الرجل مطاردة الأسد في الشارع المزدحم، وفقاً لصحيفة «ميرور».
وقالت الشرطة في لاهور إن الأسد هاجم المرأة وطفليها البالغين من العمر 5 و7 سنوات، وتسبب في إصابات بوجهيهما وأذرعهما.
وقالت الشرطة إن الضحايا الثلاثة نقلوا إلى المستشفى لتلقي العلاج، مشيرة إلى أن حالتهم مستقرة.
وذكرت الشرطة أنها تمكنت من إلقاء القبض على ثلاثة أشخاص من أصحاب المنزل الذي هرب منه الأسد خلال 12 ساعة من الحادث، بعد فرارهم من الموقع وهم يصطحبون الأسد، مبينة أنها صادرت الحيوان ونقلته إلى حديقة للحياة البرية.
ويُعد امتلاك الحيوانات البرية النادرة رمزاً للثراء والتميز في منطقة البنجاب في باكستان.

In a first-of-its-kind incident in Pakistan, police in Lahore mobilized their security apparatus to pursue a lion that had escaped from its owner after a state of panic gripped the city located in the east of the country due to the lion attacking a woman and two children in an incident captured by surveillance cameras.
Video footage showed the lion jumping over the wall of its owner's house and then chasing a woman walking down the street at night, pouncing on her and knocking her to the ground, before a passerby managed to rescue the woman and free her from the lion.
One passerby quickly struck the lion with a bottle, which scared it and caused it to move away from the woman, who quickly got up and fled the scene, while the man continued to chase the lion down the busy street, according to the "Mirror" newspaper.
Lahore police stated that the lion attacked the woman and her two children, aged 5 and 7 years, causing injuries to their faces and arms.
The police reported that the three victims were taken to the hospital for treatment, noting that their condition is stable.
The police mentioned that they managed to arrest three individuals from the house from which the lion escaped within 12 hours of the incident, after they fled the scene with the lion, indicating that they confiscated the animal and transferred it to a wildlife park.
Owning rare wild animals is considered a symbol of wealth and distinction in the Punjab region of Pakistan.
