وجه الرئيس عبدالفتاح السيسي، الحكومة بدراسة اتخاذ الإجراءات اللازمة لإغلاق الطريق الدائري الإقليمي في المناطق التي تشهد أعمال رفع الكفاءة والصيانة، بعد تكرار الحوادث المروعة عليه، آخرها الحادث المروع الذي وقع صباح اليوم (السبت) في نطاق محافظة المنوفية، في استجابة عاجلة لسلسلة الحوادث المروعة التي أودت بحياة العشرات.
وكلف السيسي الحكومة بوضع البدائل المناسبة والآمنة، خلال عملية الإغلاق للطريق الدائري الإقليمي، حفاظا على سلامة المواطنين، وضمان إنجاز الأعمال في أسرع وقت، موجها وزارة الداخلية بسرعة اتخاذ الإجراءات القانونية ضد المخالفين، وتكثيف جهودها خلال الفترة القادمة لفرض الانضباط والالتزام بالقانون على الطرق كافة، خصوصا من حيث السرعة والحمولة للحفاظ على أرواح المواطنين.
ووقع حادث مأساوي صباح اليوم على الطريق الدائري الإقليمي بمحافظة المنوفية أسفر عن مصرع 10 أشخاص وإصابة 12 آخرين في مشهد أثار الحزن والألم في قلوب الأهالي، بعد أيام من حادث «فتيات العنب» المروع الذي شهده الطريق ذاته الذي أسفر عن مصرع 19 شخصا بينهم 18 فتاة، وإصابة 3 آخرين في حالات حرجة.
وتسببت الحوادث المتتالية في موجة غضب، مع مطالبات بإصلاحات عاجلة تشمل تحسين البنية التحتية، وفصل حركة الشاحنات عن السيارات الخاصة، وتكثيف الرقابة المرورية، وتعهدت الحكومة، بقيادة رئيس الوزراء مصطفى مدبولي، بصرف تعويضات مالية لأسر الضحايا وتخصيص معاشات استثنائية، إلى جانب إعفاء أبناء الضحايا من مصروفات التعليم، في محاولة لتخفيف وطأة هذه الكوارث على الأسر المنكوبة.
ويعد الطريق الدائري الإقليمي، الذي يربط محافظات الدلتا والصعيد بالقاهرة الكبرى، أحد أهم الشرايين المرورية في مصر، حيث يشهد حركة مرورية مكثفة للشاحنات الثقيلة، الميكروباصات، والسيارات الخاصة، ومع ذلك أصبح الطريق سيئ السمعة بسبب تكرار الحوادث المميتة.
وتشير إحصاءات الجهاز المركزي للتعبئة العامة والإحصاء في مصر إلى أن مصر تسجل حوالى 12 ألف حادث مروري سنويا، تتسبب في أكثر من 5 آلاف وفاة و20 ألف إصابة، ما يجعل الحوادث المرورية واحدة من أبرز التحديات الأمنية والاقتصادية، وشهد الطريق الإقليمي على وجه الخصوص حوادث متكررة خلال 2025، منها حادث «فتيات العنب»، وحادث المنوفية الأخير، ما دفع السلطات إلى إعادة تقييم إجراءات السلامة.
President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi directed the government to study taking the necessary measures to close the regional ring road in areas witnessing efficiency enhancement and maintenance work, following the recurrence of horrific accidents on it, the latest being the tragic incident that occurred this morning (Saturday) within the Monufia Governorate, in an urgent response to a series of horrific accidents that claimed the lives of dozens.
El-Sisi tasked the government with establishing suitable and safe alternatives during the closure of the regional ring road, in order to ensure the safety of citizens and guarantee the completion of works as quickly as possible. He also directed the Ministry of Interior to swiftly take legal actions against violators and to intensify its efforts in the coming period to enforce discipline and adherence to the law on all roads, particularly regarding speed and load limits to protect the lives of citizens.
A tragic accident occurred this morning on the regional ring road in Monufia Governorate, resulting in the deaths of 10 people and injuries to 12 others in a scene that evoked sorrow and pain in the hearts of the locals, just days after the horrific "Grape Girls" accident that took place on the same road, which resulted in the deaths of 19 people, including 18 girls, and left 3 others in critical condition.
The successive accidents have caused a wave of anger, with calls for urgent reforms that include improving infrastructure, separating truck traffic from private vehicles, and intensifying traffic monitoring. The government, led by Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly, has pledged to provide financial compensation to the families of the victims and allocate exceptional pensions, in addition to exempting the children of the victims from educational expenses, in an attempt to alleviate the burden of these disasters on the affected families.
The regional ring road, which connects the Delta and Upper Egypt governorates to Greater Cairo, is one of the most important traffic arteries in Egypt, witnessing heavy traffic from trucks, microbuses, and private cars. However, the road has gained a notorious reputation due to the recurrence of fatal accidents.
Statistics from the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics in Egypt indicate that Egypt records about 12,000 traffic accidents annually, resulting in over 5,000 deaths and 20,000 injuries, making traffic accidents one of the most prominent security and economic challenges. The regional road, in particular, has witnessed repeated accidents during 2025, including the "Grape Girls" incident and the recent Monufia accident, prompting authorities to reassess safety measures.
