تسلمت سفارة العراق لدى تركيا (الإثنين)، ستة ألواح طينية أثرية تعود إلى حضارة وادي الرافدين.
وأوضحت السفارة، في بيان لها، أنه جرى تسليم الألواح خلال مراسم رسمية أقيمت في متحف الجمهورية بالعاصمة التركية أنقرة، مشيرة إلى أن هذه الألواح تمثل جزءاً أصيلاً من الإرث الحضاري العريق لبلاد الرافدين، وتعد شاهداً على الدور الريادي للعراق في ابتكار الكتابة وتأسيس أنظمة الحكم والتنظيم الإداري منذ فجر الحضارات.
وأعرب سفير العراق لدى تركيا ماجد اللجماوي عن تقديره للحكومة التركية على هذه المبادرة الثقافية القيمة، التي تجسد عمق العلاقات التاريخية بين العراق وتركيا، وتعكس حرص البلدين الصديقين على حماية الإرث الثقافي المشترك.
من جانبه، قال وكيل وزير الثقافة والسياحة التركي جوكهان يازجي، إن تسليم هذه القطع الأثرية يأتي ثمرة لتعاون وثيق بين البلدين ويجسد التزام تركيا بالقوانين والاتفاقيات الدولية ذات الصلة بحماية الممتلكات الثقافية، ودعمها المستمر لجهود العراق في استعادة تراثه المنهوب.
The Iraqi Embassy in Turkey received (on Monday) six ancient clay tablets dating back to the civilization of Mesopotamia.
The embassy stated in a press release that the tablets were handed over during an official ceremony held at the Republic Museum in the Turkish capital, Ankara, noting that these tablets represent an integral part of the rich cultural heritage of Mesopotamia and stand as a testament to Iraq's pioneering role in the invention of writing and the establishment of governance systems and administrative organization since the dawn of civilizations.
The Iraqi Ambassador to Turkey, Majid Al-Lajmawi, expressed his appreciation to the Turkish government for this valuable cultural initiative, which embodies the depth of historical relations between Iraq and Turkey and reflects the two friendly countries' commitment to protecting their shared cultural heritage.
For his part, Turkish Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism Gokhan Yazici stated that the delivery of these archaeological pieces is the result of close cooperation between the two countries and embodies Turkey's commitment to international laws and agreements related to the protection of cultural property, as well as its ongoing support for Iraq's efforts to recover its looted heritage.
