في حادثة صادمة هزت عالم ترويض الحيوانات، تعرض مروض الأسود الروسي الشهير أوليغ زوبكوف، البالغ من العمر 57 عامًا، لهجوم وحشي من أسد داخل قفص في متنزه «تايغان سفاري» بشبه جزيرة القرم، الذي أسسه بنفسه عام 2012.
وقع الهجوم يوم الإثنين أثناء جلسة تغذية داخل حظيرة الأسد، حيث سحب الحيوان زوبكوف تحت جسر المشاهدة، ما أدى إلى إصابات خطيرة في الرأس والرقبة والرئة، تاركة إياه في حالة حرجة تصارع الموت.
ويعد أوليغ زوبكوف، المعروف بلقب «هامس الأسود»، هو مؤسس متنزه تايغان سفاري، أحد أكبر مراكز تكاثر الأسود في أوروبا، ويضم حوالى 60 أسدًا، ويقع المتنزه في شبه جزيرة القرم، التي ضمتها روسيا عام 2014، وتحول إلى وجهة سياحية بارزة بفضل عروض زوبكوف الجريئة التي يتفاعل فيها مباشرة مع الأسود.
يشتهر زوبكوف بشخصيته الشجاعة وعلاقته الوثيقة مع الحيوانات المفترسة، لكنه واجه انتقادات سابقة بشأن إجراءات السلامة في المتنزه، خاصة بعد إغلاق المتنزه مؤقتًا في 2019 بسبب اتهامات بتقديم أعلاف منتهية الصلاحية، وهي اتهامات نفاها زوبكوف.
هذا الهجوم ليس الأول من نوعه في تايغان سفاري، حيث إنه في أكتوبر 2024، قتلت مجموعة من الأسود الحارسة ليوكاديا بيريفالوفا (41 عامًا)، وهي زميلة مقربة لزوبكوف، بعد أن تركت باب القفص مفتوحًا أثناء التنظيف، في حادث وصفه زوبكوف بـ«الخطأ المأساوي».
وأشارت تقارير إعلامية إلى أن الأسد الذي هاجم زوبكوف هو نفسه الذي تسبب في وفاة بيريفالوفا، وكان زوبكوف قد رفض إعدامه آنذاك، مؤكدًا أن الحادث نجم عن خطأ بشري.
ويقع متنزه تايغان في شبه جزيرة القرم، وهي منطقة مثيرة للجدل سياسيًا بعد ضمها من قبل روسيا، وتشهد المنطقة توترات مستمرة بسبب الصراع الروسي الأوكراني، مما يضيف بُعدًا آخر للحدث، حيث يتابعه الإعلام الدولي عن كثب.
In a shocking incident that shook the world of animal training, the famous Russian lion tamer Oleg Zubkov, 57, was brutally attacked by a lion inside a cage at the "Taigan Safari" park in the Crimea Peninsula, which he founded himself in 2012.
The attack occurred on Monday during a feeding session inside the lion's enclosure, where the animal pulled Zubkov under the viewing bridge, resulting in serious injuries to his head, neck, and lung, leaving him in critical condition fighting for his life.
Oleg Zubkov, known by the nickname "The Lion Whisperer," is the founder of Taigan Safari, one of the largest lion breeding centers in Europe, housing around 60 lions. The park is located in the Crimea Peninsula, which was annexed by Russia in 2014, and has become a prominent tourist destination thanks to Zubkov's daring shows where he interacts directly with the lions.
Zubkov is known for his brave personality and close relationship with the predators, but he has faced previous criticism regarding safety measures at the park, especially after the park was temporarily closed in 2019 due to allegations of providing expired feed, accusations that Zubkov denied.
This attack is not the first of its kind at Taigan Safari, as in October 2024, a group of lions killed Yuliya Perivalova (41), a close colleague of Zubkov, after she left the cage door open during cleaning, in an incident Zubkov described as a "tragic mistake."
Media reports indicated that the lion that attacked Zubkov is the same one that caused Perivalova's death, and Zubkov had refused to have it euthanized at that time, asserting that the incident was due to human error.
Taigan Safari is located in the Crimea Peninsula, a politically controversial area following its annexation by Russia, and the region continues to experience ongoing tensions due to the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, adding another dimension to the event, which is being closely followed by international media.
