واستقبل قسم أمراض الكبد والجهاز الهضمي والمناظير بمستشفى جامعة الأزهر في أسيوط شاباً في العقد الثالث من عمره يعاني من آلام مزمنة في المعدة استمرت لفترة طويلة، وبعد إجراء الفحوصات الطبية والأشعة، كانت المفاجأة الكبرى حين اكتشف الأطباء وجود جسم غريب داخل معدة المريض.

ليست هذه المرة الأولى التي يُستخرج فيها هاتف محمول من معدة مريض في مصر، فقد سجلت مستشفيات مثل مستشفى المنصورة الجامعي (2025) ومستشفى أسوان الجامعي (2021) حالات مشابهة، حيث ابتلع مرضى هواتف محمولة لفترات تراوحت بين 20 يوما و6 سنوات، غالبا في سياق محاولات تهريب أو أفعال متهورة.
