وأعلنت السلطات الصينية، عبر شبكة تلفزيون الصين الدولية (CGTN)، تفاصيل الحادث الذي وقع في محافظة لينلي، مشيرة إلى أن الانفجار حدث عند الساعة 8:23 صباحًا بالتوقيت المحلي، وتسبب الانفجار في دمار كبير بالمصنع، مع تصاعد سحب دخان كثيفة شوهدت من مسافات بعيدة.
وأظهرت مقاطع فيديو متداولة على منصة «إكس» دمارا واسعا للانفجار، في حين سارعت فرق الطوارئ، بما في ذلك وحدات الإطفاء والشرطة والفرق الطبية، إلى موقع الحادث لإجلاء المصابين وتأمين المنطقة.

وتشير تقارير سابقة إلى حوادث مشابهة في هونان، مثل انفجار عام 2018 في منشأة لمعالجة النفايات ناتج عن مخلفات ألعاب نارية، أودى بحياة 9 أشخاص، كما شهدت الصين حوادث صناعية كارثية أخرى، مثل انفجار مصنع كيميائي في شيانغشوي عام 2019، الذي أسفر عن مقتل 78 شخصًا، مما أثار انتقادات حادة للرقابة الحكومية.

Previous reports indicate similar incidents in Hunan, such as the 2018 explosion at a waste processing facility caused by leftover fireworks, which claimed the lives of 9 people.
