تواصل السلطات الأمريكية البحث عن جندي سابق متهم بقتل بناته الثلاث خلال رحلة تخييم في واشنطن قبل أيام.
وتعود جريمة القتل المروعة إلى أيام مضت عندما تم العثور على ثلاث شقيقات صغيرات في السن في واشنطن، وهن: أوليفيا (5 أعوام)، وبايت (9 أعوام)، وإيفلين ديكر (8 أعوام) واللواتي فقد أثرهن بعد زيارة مجدولة مع والدهن، وفقًا لإدارة شرطة ويناتشي.
وكشف المسؤولون أن والدة الأطفال، ويتني ديكر، اتصلت بالشرطة يوم الجمعة وتقدمت بشكوى مدنية، قائلة إن هناك مخاوف من أن الوالد ترافيس كاليب ديكر يمر بظروف مادية صعبة وأنه اصطحب بناته للتخييم وقدمت أوصاف سيارته. وفي بيان، قالت ويتني ديكر إنها «تشعر بالقلق» بشأن سلامة أطفالها، وأنها «تريد فقط عودتهم إلى المنزل بسلام».

وأثارت الجريمة صدمة واسعة في أوساط المجتمع المحلي، حيث تجاوزت التبرعات التي جمعت لدعم أم الفتيات المليون دولار، كما أطلق نشطاء دعوات لإعادة النظر في نظام إنذار اختطاف الأطفال بعدما تبين أن الإنذار لم يصدر بالرغم من بلاغ الأم عن اختفاء بناتها.

The horrific crime dates back to a few days ago when three young sisters were found in Washington: Olivia (5 years old), Byte (9 years old), and Evelyn Decker (8 years old), who had been missing after a scheduled visit with their father, according to the Wenatchee Police Department.
Officials revealed that the children's mother, Whitney Decker, contacted the police on Friday and filed a civil complaint, stating that there were concerns that the father, Travis Caleb Decker, was going through difficult financial circumstances and had taken his daughters camping, providing descriptions of his vehicle. In a statement, Whitney Decker said she was "worried" about her children's safety and that she "just wants them to come home safely."
Investigators later learned that Travis Decker and his daughters did not arrive at the planned location on Saturday.
At that time, authorities issued a statement regarding the children's disappearance and granted arrest warrants for the father for violating custody orders.
Later, the bodies of the girls were found in a remote campsite in a rugged mountainous area near the city of Leavenworth.
