In the seasons of Hajj, where voices rise in prayer and hearts humble on the plains of Arafat, the voice of Amin Qattan dominated the airwaves in unforgettable moments, flowing from the radio with a concluding prayer that poured tranquility into souls, marking the end of the day with a rhythm of reverence and dignity. His voice was not just a radio performance, but a ritual connected to the listener's emotions, an extension of the voice of Mecca as it calls upon God and responds.
Amin Qattan, the seasoned broadcaster who chose radio as the stage for his voice, offered a different professional experience characterized by balance, calmness, and professionalism. His presence was linked to religious and spiritual programs that contributed to shaping the identity of Saudi radio, especially in Jeddah Radio and the Call of Islam. Although his beginnings were in television, he preferred to withdraw to where the word is more sincere and the message deeper.
Qattan continued to present his voice not as a person, but as a value. He did not seek favor nor strive for visibility; he was content to be a daily prayer heard by millions, bringing them comfort, especially during the Hajj season. Even when he briefly returned to the screen through "Iqraa" in the program "Al-Rawdah and Al-Hatim," he was not returning to the spotlight, but to the message.
Despite his rich memory, he refused to write his memoirs out of respect for the privacy he lived, believing that a true media figure is satisfied with their echo, not with narrating their own story. His genuine request was to celebrate creators in their lives, not after their absence.
Amin Qattan remains, as long as there is a prayer in the airwaves, and in the nation's memory, a season that does not begin except with his voice.
