أعلنت السلطات الليبية، اليوم (الجمعة)، مقتل 11 مهاجرًا سودانيًا، من بينهم ثلاث نساء وطفلان، وسائق ليبي في حادث تصادم مروع وقع في صحراء ليبيا، على بعد 90 كيلومترًا شمال مدينة الكفرة.
وأفادت دائرة الإسعاف والطوارئ في الكفرة بأن الحادث وقع عندما اصطدمت سيارة تقل المهاجرين بشاحنة في وقت مبكر من صباح اليوم، مما أسفر أيضًا عن إصابة رجل يبلغ من العمر 65 عامًا وابنه البالغ من العمر 10 أعوام بجروح متفاوتة.
ونقلت دائرة الإسعاف المصابين إلى مستشفى الكفرة لتلقي العلاج، بينما تم نقل جثث الضحايا إلى مرافق طبية لاتخاذ الإجراءات اللازمة.
وتعد هذه الحادثة الأحدث في سلسلة من المآسي التي يواجهها المهاجرون السودانيون الفارون من الحرب الأهلية المستعرة في بلادهم منذ أبريل 2023، والتي أدت إلى مقتل الآلاف وتشريد أكثر من 14 مليون شخص.
وفي وقت سابق من هذا الشهر، تم العثور على جثث 7 مهاجرين سودانيين في الصحراء بعد تعطل سيارتهم على طريق يستخدمه المهربون بين تشاد وليبيا، مما يعكس المخاطر المتزايدة التي يواجهها هؤلاء المهاجرون في رحلتهم اليائسة بحثًا عن الأمان.
واندلع الصراع في السودان بين القوات المسلحة السودانية وقوات الدعم السريع في أبريل 2023، مما أدى إلى نزوح جماعي، حيث فر أكثر من 4.1 مليون شخص إلى دول مجاورة مثل تشاد ومصر وجنوب السودان، بينما نزح 16 مليون آخرين داخل السودان، وقد تفاقمت الأوضاع بسبب المجاعة التي ضربت مناطق مثل شمال دارفور، مما دفع المزيد من السودانيين إلى المخاطرة بحياتهم في محاولة للوصول إلى بر الأمان عبر ليبيا.
The Libyan authorities announced today (Friday) the death of 11 Sudanese migrants, including three women and two children, as well as a Libyan driver in a horrific collision that occurred in the Libyan desert, about 90 kilometers north of the city of Kufra.
The Kufra Ambulance and Emergency Department reported that the accident occurred when a vehicle carrying the migrants collided with a truck early this morning, also resulting in injuries to a 65-year-old man and his 10-year-old son.
The ambulance service transported the injured to Kufra Hospital for treatment, while the bodies of the victims were taken to medical facilities for necessary procedures.
This incident is the latest in a series of tragedies faced by Sudanese migrants fleeing the civil war raging in their country since April 2023, which has led to the deaths of thousands and the displacement of more than 14 million people.
Earlier this month, the bodies of 7 Sudanese migrants were found in the desert after their vehicle broke down on a route used by traffickers between Chad and Libya, reflecting the increasing risks faced by these migrants in their desperate journey for safety.
The conflict in Sudan erupted between the Sudanese Armed Forces and the Rapid Support Forces in April 2023, leading to mass displacement, with more than 4.1 million people fleeing to neighboring countries such as Chad, Egypt, and South Sudan, while another 16 million have been displaced within Sudan. The situation has been exacerbated by famine affecting areas like North Darfur, pushing more Sudanese to risk their lives in an attempt to reach safety through Libya.
