The explosion occurred in a workshop belonging to Shandong Youdao Chemical, a prominent industrial facility in the area, just before noon Beijing time, resulting in thick columns of gray and orange smoke rising into the sky. According to reports from official media, residents of nearby villages felt strong vibrations from the explosion, and local testimonies reported glass shards flying in nearby areas due to the force of the blast. Videos circulating on the social media platform "X" showed horrifying scenes of flames and thick smoke engulfing the industrial area, with visible damage to windows and neighboring buildings. An employee at a hotel located about 3.5 kilometers from the incident site confirmed to local media that she heard the explosion clearly. Local authorities acted quickly to address the disaster, with the emergency management department sending rescue teams comprising 55 vehicles and 232 firefighters and rescue personnel to the scene.
