شهدت مدينة المنيا، جنوب القاهرة، حالة من الذعر والهلع إثر انفجار أسطوانة غاز صغيرة أمام نادي ضباط الشرطة بشارع كورنيش النيل، بدائرة قسم شرطة أول المنيا، ما أسفر عن إصابة شخصين بجروح بالغة.
وكشف مصدر أمني أن الحادث الذي وقع حوالى الساعة 9:27 مساء، نجم عن تسرب غاز من الأسطوانة أدى إلى اشتعالها بسبب سيجارة أحد المارة، وفقاً لتحقيقات أولية.
وتلقى اللواء مجدي سالم، مدير أمن المنيا، إخطاراً من غرفة عمليات النجدة بالواقعة، حيث أفادت التقارير الأولية بسماع دوي انفجار قوي أمام النادي، أعقبته حالة من الفزع بين المواطنين في المنطقة المزدحمة.
وعلى الفور، انتقلت قوات الشرطة وسيارات الإسعاف إلى مكان الحادث، حيث تبين أن شخصين كانا يسيران بالقرب من النادي، أحدهما يحمل كيساً يحتوي على أسطوانة غاز صغيرة، عندما انفجرت الأسطوانة نتيجة تسرب الغاز.
أسفر الحادث عن إصابة شخصين، تعرض أحدهما لتهتك شديد في اليد ومناطق متفرقة من الجسم، بينما أصيب الآخر بجروح متوسطة، وتم نقلهما إلى مستشفى المنيا العام، وأكد مصدر أمني أن الحادث لم يتسبب في إصابات أو أضرار إضافية في محيط النادي.
وفرضت الأجهزة الأمنية طوقاً أمنياً حول موقع الانفجار لتأمين المنطقة والتحقق من أسباب الحادث، فيما تولت النيابة العامة التحقيقات، وتم تحرير محضر بالواقعة وجارٍ استكمال الفحص والتحري للوقوف على الملابسات الكاملة.
وأشار المصدر الأمني إلى أن الحادث يُعزى إلى تسرب غاز عرضي، مستبعداً أي شبهة جنائية في الوقت الحالي، مع استمرار التحقيقات للتأكد من جميع التفاصيل.
The city of Minya, south of Cairo, experienced a state of panic and fear following the explosion of a small gas cylinder in front of the Police Officers' Club on Corniche El Nile Street, within the jurisdiction of the First Minya Police Station, resulting in two people sustaining serious injuries.
An security source revealed that the incident, which occurred around 9:27 PM, was caused by a gas leak from the cylinder that ignited due to a cigarette from a passerby, according to preliminary investigations.
Major General Magdy Salem, the Director of Minya Security, received a notification from the emergency operations room about the incident, where initial reports indicated a loud explosion was heard in front of the club, followed by a state of panic among citizens in the crowded area.
Immediately, police forces and ambulances were dispatched to the scene of the incident, where it was found that two individuals were walking near the club, one of whom was carrying a bag containing a small gas cylinder when the cylinder exploded due to the gas leak.
The incident resulted in two injuries, with one person suffering severe lacerations to the hand and various parts of the body, while the other sustained moderate injuries. They were both transported to Minya General Hospital, and a security source confirmed that the incident did not cause any additional injuries or damage in the vicinity of the club.
Security forces imposed a security cordon around the explosion site to secure the area and investigate the causes of the incident, while the Public Prosecution took over the investigations, and a report was filed regarding the incident. The examination and inquiry are ongoing to determine the full circumstances.
The security source indicated that the incident is attributed to an accidental gas leak, ruling out any criminal suspicion at this time, while investigations continue to verify all details.
