في واقعة مأساوية شهدتها محافظة أسوان، عُثر على جثامين 5 شبان لقوا حتفهم أثناء محاولتهم التنقيب عن الذهب بشكل غير قانوني في منطقة جبال العلاقي جنوب المحافظة، بعدما ضلوا طريق العودة وسط التضاريس الوعرة والظروف المناخية القاسية.
وتلقت الأجهزة الأمنية إخطاراً يفيد بالعثور على الجثث في منطقة العلاقي، إذ كشفت التحريات أن الضحايا كانوا في رحلة للتنقيب العشوائي عن الذهب، وأثناء عودتهم فقدوا الاتجاهات، ما أدى إلى وفاتهم نتيجة الإجهاد وارتفاع درجات الحرارة في المنطقة الصحراوية.
وبعد أيام من تغيبهم، قادت جهود الأهالي، الذين اعتادوا التنقل في هذه المناطق بحثاً عن ذويهم المفقودين، إلى اكتشاف الجثامين، والتي تم نقلها إلى مشرحة أسوان العمومية تحت تصرف النيابة العامة.
وتبيّن أن ثلاثة من الضحايا ينتمون إلى محافظة أسوان، فيما ينحدر الآخران من سوهاج.
وقد تم تحرير محضر بالواقعة وأخطرت النيابة العامة لمباشرة التحقيقات واتخاذ الإجراءات القانونية اللازمة.
يُذكر أن حوادث الوفاة خلال التنقيب غير المرخص عن الذهب تتكرر في المناطق الجبلية بأسوان، خصوصا مع انتشار ظاهرة «الدهابة» – وهم شباب يخاطرون بحياتهم في صحراء الجنوب بحثًا عن المعدن النفيس – في ظل غياب التراخيص وضعف الرقابة، ما يدفع السلطات المصرية باستمرار إلى التحذير من هذه الممارسات الخطرة.
In a tragic incident witnessed in Aswan Governorate, the bodies of 5 young men were found after they died while attempting to illegally search for gold in the Al-Alaqi mountains in the south of the governorate, having lost their way back amid the rugged terrain and harsh weather conditions.
The security authorities received a notification regarding the discovery of the bodies in the Al-Alaqi area, where investigations revealed that the victims were on a trip for random gold mining, and during their return, they lost their bearings, leading to their deaths due to exhaustion and high temperatures in the desert area.
After days of their disappearance, the efforts of locals, who are accustomed to navigating these areas in search of their missing relatives, led to the discovery of the bodies, which were transferred to the Aswan Public Morgue under the supervision of the Public Prosecution.
It was found that three of the victims were from Aswan Governorate, while the other two were from Sohag.
A report was filed regarding the incident, and the Public Prosecution was notified to initiate investigations and take the necessary legal actions.
It is worth mentioning that deaths during unauthorized gold mining occur frequently in the mountainous areas of Aswan, especially with the spread of the phenomenon of "dahaba" – young men who risk their lives in the southern desert in search of the precious metal – amid the absence of licenses and weak oversight, prompting Egyptian authorities to continuously warn against these dangerous practices.
