أكد وزير الاتصالات وتقنية المعلومات المهندس عبدالله بن عامر السواحه أن المملكة بدعم وتوجيهات ولي العهد تمضي بخطى متسارعة نحو ترسيخ مكانتها مركزاً عالمياً في عصر الذكاء الاصطناعي، عبر الاستثمار في الحوسبة، ورأس المال، وتمكين العملاء من التوسع انطلاقاً من المملكة إلى العالم.
وأوضح خلال مشاركته في جلسة حوارية عُقدت ضمن جولة مايكروسوفت للذكاء الاصطناعي – Microsoft AI Tour في الرياض 2026، أن سجل المملكة في العصر الرقمي يعكس قدرتها على تحويل الرؤى إلى منجزات، مبيناً أن سعة مراكز البيانات ارتفعت من أقل من 80 ميغاواط إلى أكثر من 440 ميغاواط، فيما نمت قيمة الاقتصاد الرقمي إلى ما يقارب 140 مليار دولار، مسهماً بأكثر من 50% من نمو الاقتصاد الرقمي في منطقة الشرق الأوسط وشمال أفريقيا، مع وجود 8 شركات تقنية ناشئة مليارية حتى اليوم.
وأشار إلى أن التركيز على تنمية القدرات الوطنية شكّل نقطة تحول إستراتيجية؛ إذ ارتفع حجم الكفاءات التقنية من 150 ألفاً إلى أكثر من 406 آلاف متخصص، مما يجعل المملكة من أكبر التجمعات التقنية على مستوى المنطقة، ويعزز جاهزيتها لقيادة العصر الذكي.
وبيّن أن قيادة سباق الذكاء الاصطناعي تتطلب ثلاثة عناصر رئيسية؛ الحوسبة، ورأس المال، والعملاء، مؤكداً أن المملكة توفر هذه الممكّنات لتمكين الشركاء من التوسع عالمياً.
وأفاد بأن المملكة عملت على سد ثلاث فجوات رئيسية عالمياً؛ فجوة الحوسبة عبر توفير مصادر طاقة موثوقة لدعم مراكز البيانات، والفجوة الخوارزمية من خلال تطوير نماذج لغوية عربية متقدمة تخدم أكثر من 400 مليون ناطق بالعربية، والفجوة البيانية عبر تعزيز التكامل بين التدريب والتطبيق لضمان الدقة والموثوقية في القطاعات الحيوية.
واختتم بالتأكيد على أن المملكة، بالشراكة مع كبرى الشركات التقنية العالمية، ماضية في بناء منظومة متكاملة تقود نمو الاقتصاد الذكي، وترسخ دورها منصة عالمية لابتكار وتوسيع حلول الذكاء الاصطناعي.
The Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Engineer Abdullah bin Amer Al-Swaha, confirmed that the Kingdom, with the support and guidance of the Crown Prince, is making rapid strides towards establishing its position as a global center in the era of artificial intelligence, through investment in computing, capital, and enabling customers to expand from the Kingdom to the world.
He explained during his participation in a panel discussion held as part of the Microsoft AI Tour in Riyadh 2026, that the Kingdom's record in the digital age reflects its ability to transform visions into achievements, noting that the capacity of data centers has increased from less than 80 megawatts to more than 440 megawatts, while the value of the digital economy has grown to nearly 140 billion dollars, contributing over 50% to the growth of the digital economy in the Middle East and North Africa, with 8 billion-dollar tech startups to date.
He pointed out that the focus on developing national capabilities has formed a strategic turning point; as the number of technical competencies has risen from 150,000 to more than 406,000 specialists, making the Kingdom one of the largest tech hubs in the region, and enhancing its readiness to lead the smart era.
He indicated that leading the race in artificial intelligence requires three key elements: computing, capital, and customers, emphasizing that the Kingdom provides these enablers to empower partners to expand globally.
He stated that the Kingdom has worked to bridge three main global gaps; the computing gap by providing reliable energy sources to support data centers, the algorithmic gap by developing advanced Arabic language models that serve more than 400 million Arabic speakers, and the data gap by enhancing the integration between training and application to ensure accuracy and reliability in vital sectors.
He concluded by affirming that the Kingdom, in partnership with major global tech companies, is moving forward in building an integrated system that leads the growth of the smart economy and solidifies its role as a global platform for innovating and expanding artificial intelligence solutions.
