أعلن وزير الخزانة الأمريكي سكوت بيستنت أن الحكومة الصينية وافقت مبدئياً على اتفاقية لنقل ملكية تطبيق «تيك توك» إلى طرف جديد، تمهيداً لحل الأزمة التقنية والاقتصادية التي شغلت واشنطن وبكين طوال الأشهر الماضية.
وفي تصريحات إعلامية، أوضح الوزير بيستنت اليوم (الخميس) أن الاتفاق ما زال في مراحله الأولى، لكنه أشار إلى أن التفاهمات «تحقق تقدماً واضحاً خلال الأسابيع القادمة»، متوقعاً أن يُحسم الملف في القريب العاجل.
ونقلت شبكة «فوكس بيزنس نتوورك» عن مصادرها أن المحادثات الأخيرة بين أمريكا والصين في العاصمة الماليزية كوالالمبور، شملت التوصل إلى «اتفاق مبدئي» بشأن ملكية التطبيق، على أن يتم الإعلان عن تفاصيله النهائية بعد استكمال الموافقات الرسمية من الجهات الصينية.
وفي المقابل، أصدرت وزارة التجارة الصينية بياناً أكدت فيه أنها «تتعامل مع جميع الملفات المتعلقة بتطبيق تيك توك وفقاً للقوانين المحلية وبما يضمن المصالح المشتركة بين الجانبين»، دون أن تحدد موقفها النهائي من الصفقة.
ولم يصدر أي تعليق رسمي من شركة بايت دانس المالكة للتطبيق الشهير، حول عملية نقل الملكية لكنها كانت قد أشارت في وقت سابق إلى «استعدادها للتعاون مع الهيئات التنظيمية لضمان استمرار الخدمة داخل الولايات المتحدة».
وتأتي هذه التطورات بعد أكثر من 18 شهراً من الجدل حول مستقبل «تيك توك» داخل أمريكا، حيث يضم التطبيق أكثر من 170 مليون مستخدم أمريكي، فيما أقرّ الكونغرس العام الماضي قانوناً يُلزم المالكين الصينيين ببيع أصولهم في السوق الأمريكية بحلول يناير 2025.
ويرى خبراء التقنية أن الاتفاق المرتقب «قد ينهي واحدة من أطول الأزمات بين واشنطن وبكين في مجال التكنولوجيا»، مؤكدين أن مصير «تيك توك» سيكون اختباراً جديداً للعلاقات التجارية بين القوتين الاقتصاديتين الأكبر في العالم.
U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Pientka announced that the Chinese government has tentatively agreed to an agreement for the transfer of ownership of the "TikTok" app to a new party, paving the way for a resolution to the technical and economic crisis that has occupied Washington and Beijing for the past several months.
In media statements, Secretary Pientka clarified today (Thursday) that the agreement is still in its early stages, but he indicated that the understandings "are making clear progress in the coming weeks," expecting the matter to be resolved soon.
The "Fox Business Network" reported from its sources that the recent talks between the U.S. and China in the Malaysian capital Kuala Lumpur included reaching a "preliminary agreement" regarding the ownership of the app, with final details to be announced after obtaining official approvals from Chinese authorities.
In contrast, the Chinese Ministry of Commerce issued a statement confirming that it "handles all matters related to the TikTok app in accordance with local laws and in a manner that ensures the mutual interests of both sides," without specifying its final position on the deal.
No official comment has been issued by ByteDance, the owner of the popular app, regarding the ownership transfer process, but it had previously indicated its "readiness to cooperate with regulatory bodies to ensure the continued service within the United States."
These developments come after more than 18 months of debate over the future of "TikTok" in America, where the app has over 170 million American users, while Congress last year passed a law requiring Chinese owners to sell their assets in the U.S. market by January 2025.
Tech experts believe that the anticipated agreement "could end one of the longest crises between Washington and Beijing in the field of technology," affirming that the fate of "TikTok" will be a new test for trade relations between the two largest economic powers in the world.
