أكد المتحدث باسم وزارة الرياضة عادل الزهراني عدم وجود أي تدخُّل من وزارة الرياضة أو أي جهة أخرى، سواء من داخل القطاع الرياضي أو خارجه، في انتخابات مجلس إدارة الاتحاد السعودي لكرة القدم، مشدداً على أن الجمعية العمومية هي صاحبة القرار في اختيار من يمثلها.
وقال الزهراني، خلال مؤتمر القطاع الرياضي، إن الجمعية العمومية أقرّت اللوائح والاشتراطات المنظمة للعملية الانتخابية، كما عيّنت لجنة الانتخابات، مؤكداً أنه في ظل هذه الإجراءات «لا يوجد أي منطق في وجود أي تدخلات» في الانتخابات.
وأوضح أن الجمعية العمومية جهة مستقلة تدير شؤون كرة القدم في السعودية وفق الأنظمة المعمول بها دولياً، وأن أعضاء الجمعية هم من سيصوتون في صناديق الاقتراع بشكل سرّي، مضيفاً أن لا أحد يعرف لمن صوّت كل عضو.
وشدّد الزهراني على أن الأندية متى ما أرادت انتخاب شخص معين، فإن القرار يعود إليها وحدها، ولا توجد جهة أخرى تملك التدخل في خياراتها الانتخابية.
ودعا الجمعية العمومية إلى المحافظة على سمعة ونزاهة انتخابات الاتحاد السعودي لكرة القدم، ورصد أي تجاوزات قد تمس نزاهة العملية الانتخابية أو تثير التشكيك في الإجراءات المتبعة، والعمل على إحالتها إلى الجهات المختصة.
كما دعا لجنة الانتخابات إلى رصد أي ممارسات أو أمور من شأنها التشكيك في نزاهة الانتخابات، والتعامل معها وفق الإجراءات النظامية، وإحالة ما يستوجب منها إلى الجهات المختصة.
وجدّد الزهراني التأكيد على موقف الوزارة، قائلًا إنه «لا يوجد أي دور لأي جهة كانت، سواء وزارة الرياضة أو غيرها، داخل أو خارج القطاع الرياضي، في انتخابات مجلس إدارة الاتحاد السعودي لكرة القدم»، مشدداً على استقلالية العملية الانتخابية واحتكامها إلى اللوائح والإجراءات المعتمدة.
The spokesperson for the Ministry of Sports, Adel Al-Zahrani, confirmed that there is no interference from the Ministry of Sports or any other entity, whether from within the sports sector or outside it, in the elections for the Board of Directors of the Saudi Football Federation, emphasizing that the General Assembly is the decision-maker in choosing its representatives.
Al-Zahrani stated during the sports sector conference that the General Assembly approved the regulations and requirements governing the electoral process and appointed the election committee, affirming that under these procedures, "there is no logic in the existence of any interventions" in the elections.
He clarified that the General Assembly is an independent body managing football affairs in Saudi Arabia according to internationally recognized regulations, and that the members of the assembly will vote in the ballot boxes confidentially, adding that no one knows how each member voted.
Al-Zahrani stressed that whenever the clubs wish to elect a specific person, the decision solely belongs to them, and there is no other entity that has the right to interfere in their electoral choices.
He called on the General Assembly to maintain the reputation and integrity of the elections of the Saudi Football Federation, to monitor any violations that may affect the integrity of the electoral process or raise doubts about the procedures followed, and to work on referring them to the relevant authorities.
He also urged the election committee to monitor any practices or matters that could cast doubt on the integrity of the elections and to deal with them according to the regulatory procedures, referring what is necessary to the relevant authorities.
Al-Zahrani reiterated the ministry's position, stating that "there is no role for any entity, whether the Ministry of Sports or others, inside or outside the sports sector, in the elections for the Board of Directors of the Saudi Football Federation," emphasizing the independence of the electoral process and its adherence to the approved regulations and procedures.
