أدلى الأرجنتيني جيانلوكا بريستياني، لاعب بنفيكا، بإفادته أمام الاتحاد الأوروبي لكرة القدم في إطار التحقيق المفتوح بشأن اتهامه بتوجيه إساءة ذات طابع عنصري إلى نجم ريال مدريد، فينيسيوس جونيور.
وبحسب ما نقلته شبكة ESPN، أوضح بريستياني في شهادته أنه لم يصف اللاعب البرازيلي بلفظ عنصري، نافياً استخدام كلمة «قرد»، ومؤكداً أنه وجّه إليه عبارة مهينة ذات دلالة معادية للمثليين باللغة الإسبانية، تتشابه في لفظها مع الكلمة المتداولة في الاتهام.
القضية التي أثارت جدلاً واسعاً في الأوساط الرياضية الأوروبية تخضع حالياً لتحقيق رسمي من قبل «يويفا»، وسط توقعات بإمكانية فرض عقوبات تأديبية على اللاعب الأرجنتيني، استناداً إلى سوابق مماثلة تعامل معها الاتحاد بصرامة في السنوات الأخيرة.
وتنص المادة 14 من اللائحة التأديبية لـ«يويفا» على أن الإطار العقابي ينسحب بالتساوي على الأفعال ذات الطابع العنصري أو المعادية للمثليين. وتؤكد المادة أن أي جهة أو شخص خاضع للوائح، يسيء إلى كرامة إنسان أو مجموعة لأسباب تتصل بلون البشرة أو العرق أو الدين أو الأصل الإثني أو الجنس أو الميول الجنسية، يعرّض نفسه لعقوبة الإيقاف لمدة لا تقل عن عشر مباريات أو لفترة زمنية محددة، أو لأي عقوبة أخرى مناسبة يقرّرها الاتحاد.
وبينما يواصل «يويفا» استكمال إجراءاته، تبقى القضية اختباراً جديداً لالتزام الكرة الأوروبية بتطبيق معاييرها الصارمة في مواجهة كل أشكال التمييز، أياً كانت طبيعته أو دوافعه.

Article 14 of UEFA's disciplinary regulations states that the punitive framework applies equally to acts of a racist or homophobic nature. The article confirms that any entity or person subject to the regulations who insults the dignity of a person or group for reasons related to skin color, race, religion, ethnic origin, gender, or sexual orientation exposes themselves to a suspension of no less than ten matches or a specified period, or any other appropriate penalty determined by the federation.
