حقق المنتخب السعودي للكرة الطائرة الموحدة للأولمبياد الخاص، الميدالية الفضية في كأس العالم الأولى للكرة الطائرة الموحدة التي استضافتها مدينة كاتوفيتسه البولندية، بعد مواجهة قوية مع المنتخب السلوفاكي في المباراة النهائية.
وجاء هذا الإنجاز امتدادا لمسيرة مشرفة منذ انطلاق المسابقة، حيث قدّم المنتخب أداء مميزا في مرحلة المجموعات بتغلبه على منتخبي فنلندا والنمسا بنتيجة (2–0)، قبل أن يخسر بصعوبة أمام سلوفاكيا التي واجهها مجددا في المباراة النهائية.
وفي الأدوار الإقصائية، حقق الأخضر فوزا مثيرا على بولندا المستضيفة بنتيجة (2–1) بعد شوط فاصل، أظهر خلاله اللاعبون روحا قتالية عالية وثباتا ذهنيا لافتا أوصلهم إلى المباراة النهائية.
وأوضح المدير الوطني للأولمبياد الخاص السعودي عبدالرحمن القريشي، أن هذا الإنجاز يعكس التطور المستمر الذي تشهده الرياضة في المملكة تحت مظلة وزارة الرياضة واللجنة الأولمبية والبارالمبية السعودية، والدعم الكبير من مجلس إدارة الاتحاد السعودي للأولمبياد الخاص، مؤكدا أن الأداء الذي قدمه المنتخب في كأس العالم هو ثمرة للاستثمار في الألعاب والمسابقات الوطنية، والبرامج التي أطلقها الاتحاد ضمن خطته الإستراتيجية.
وأشار القريشي إلى أن كرة الطائرة الموحدة سبق أن حققت ذهبية الألعاب العالمية الصيفية برلين 2023، مؤكدا أن الميدالية الفضية الحالية تضيف صفحة جديدة من الإنجازات، وتثبت قدرة أبطال المملكة على المنافسة الدولية ورفع علم السعودية على المنصات العالمية.

The Saudi Unified Volleyball team for the Special Olympics achieved the silver medal in the first Unified Volleyball World Cup held in the Polish city of Katowice, after a strong match against the Slovak team in the final.
This achievement is a continuation of a proud journey since the competition began, as the team delivered an outstanding performance in the group stage by defeating the teams from Finland and Austria with a score of (2–0), before narrowly losing to Slovakia, which they faced again in the final match.
In the knockout stages, the green team achieved an exciting victory over the host team Poland with a score of (2–1) after a tiebreaker, during which the players displayed a high fighting spirit and remarkable mental stability that led them to the final match.
The National Director of the Saudi Special Olympics, Abdulrahman Al-Quraishi, explained that this achievement reflects the continuous development that sports in the Kingdom are witnessing under the umbrella of the Ministry of Sports and the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee, along with the significant support from the Board of Directors of the Saudi Special Olympics Federation. He emphasized that the performance the team delivered in the World Cup is the result of investment in national games and competitions, as well as the programs launched by the federation as part of its strategic plan.
Al-Quraishi noted that the Unified Volleyball team had previously won the gold medal at the 2023 Berlin Summer World Games, affirming that the current silver medal adds a new chapter of achievements and proves the ability of the Kingdom's champions to compete internationally and raise the Saudi flag on global podiums.
