قاد الهداف التاريخي لدوري المحترفين عمر السومة فريقه الحزم لدور الـ16 من مسابقة كأس خادم الحرمين الشريفين، بتسجيله هدفَي فريقه في اللقاء الذي جمع الحزم بضيفه نيوم وانتهى لمصلحة الحزم بهدفين لهدف ضمن لقاءات دور الـ32 من المسابقة.
بدأ الحزم اللقاء بداية قوية، وبعد مرور 5 دقائق فقط أحرز عمر السومة الهدف الأول بعد مجهود فردي من أحمد الشمراني الذي توغل داخل منطقة الجزاء ولعبها عرضية أرضية ليسيطر عليها السومة ويسددها قوية في المرمى هدفاً أول للحزم (د:5)، وتمكن نيوم من العودة للقاء بعد انطلاقة لوتشيانو رودريغيز من الجهة اليسرى ليمررها داخل منطقة الجزاء ويترجمها ألكسندر لاكازيت في المرمى هدف تعادل لنيوم (د:26)، وعاد الحزم للسيطرة في الشوط الثاني وتألق السومة مجدداً بإحرازه الهدف الثاني ومن صناعة أحمد الشمراني الذي لعب كرة عرضية عالية ليطير لها السومة ويودعها المرمى بصدره هدفاً شخصياً ثانياً له ولفريقه (د:62)، لينتهي اللقاء بفوز الحزم بهدفين لهدف.
ويهذه النتيجة يتأهل الحزم لدور الـ16، فيما غادر نيوم منافسات المسابقة.

The all-time top scorer of the Professional League, Omar Al-Soma, led his team Al-Hazm to the Round of 16 of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Cup by scoring both of his team's goals in the match against their guest Neom, which ended in favor of Al-Hazm with a score of two to one in the Round of 32 of the competition.
Al-Hazm started the match strongly, and just 5 minutes in, Omar Al-Soma scored the first goal after an individual effort from Ahmed Al-Shamrani, who penetrated the penalty area and delivered a low cross for Al-Soma to control and strike powerfully into the net, marking the first goal for Al-Hazm (5'). Neom managed to equalize after Luciano Rodriguez's run down the left side, where he passed it into the penalty area, allowing Alexander Lacazette to convert it into the net for Neom's equalizer (26'). Al-Hazm regained control in the second half, and Al-Soma shone again by scoring the second goal, assisted by Ahmed Al-Shamrani, who delivered a high cross that Al-Soma soared to meet with his chest, netting a second personal goal for himself and his team (62'). The match ended with Al-Hazm winning two to one.
With this result, Al-Hazm qualifies for the Round of 16, while Neom exits the competition.
