ضم نادي الوداد المغربي إلى صفوفه الهداف التاريخي لدوري روشن النجم السوري عمر السومة، للمشاركة مع الفريق في كأس العالم للأندية التي ستقام في الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية في الفترة من 14 يونيو الجاري وحتى 13 يوليو القادم.
وسيمثل السومة فريق الوداد المغربي خلال مجريات البطولة فقط، قبل أن يقرر مستقبله وينظر في العروض المقدمه له لاختيار فريق جديد لتمثيله في الموسم الرياضي القادم، وذلك عقب انتهاء عقده مع فريق العروبة الذي مثله في 22 مباراة سجل خلالها 12 هدفاً وصنع 3.
يذكر أن الوداد المغربي وقع في المجموعة السابعة لبطولة كأس العالم للأندية التي تضم إلى جواره مانشستر سيتي الإنجليزي ويوفنتوس الإيطالي والعين الإماراتي.
وكان الوداد قد عزز صفوفه بعدة تعاقدات لأجل المشاركة في المحفل العالمي، كان أبرزها ضم النجم المغربي نور الدين مرابط، والمهاجم المغربي حمزه هنوري، ولاعب خط الوسط من بوركينافاسو سفيان عزيز كي.

The Moroccan Wydad Club has signed the all-time top scorer of the Roshen League, Syrian star Omar Al-Soma, to participate with the team in the FIFA Club World Cup, which will be held in the United States from June 14 to July 13.
Al-Soma will represent the Wydad Club during the tournament only, before deciding on his future and considering the offers presented to him to choose a new team to represent in the upcoming sports season, following the expiration of his contract with Al-Orouba, where he played 22 matches, scoring 12 goals and providing 3 assists.
It is worth mentioning that Wydad has been placed in Group G of the FIFA Club World Cup, alongside English Manchester City, Italian Juventus, and Emirati Al Ain.
Wydad has bolstered its squad with several signings for participation in the global event, the most notable of which are the Moroccan star Nordin Amrabat, Moroccan striker Hamza Hnouri, and Burkinabe midfielder Sofiane Aziz Ki.
