على ملعب «آنفيلد»، بادر أتلتيكو مدريد بالتسجيل عن طريق ماركوس يورينتي في الدقيقة (17)، قبل أن يدرك المجري دومينيك سوبوسلاي التعادل لليفربول في الدقيقة (40)، فيما أحرز الأرجنتيني أليكسيس ماك أليستر الهدف الثاني للفريق الإنجليزي في الدقيقة (50).
وبهذه النتيجة، حصد ليفربول أول ثلاث نقاط في مشواره بالبطولة، فيما بقي أتلتيكو مدريد دون نقاط.
Liverpool FC overcame their Spanish guest Atletico Madrid with a score of (2-1) yesterday (Wednesday) in the first round of the group stage of the UEFA Champions League.
At Anfield, Atletico Madrid took the lead with a goal from Marcos Llorente in the (17th) minute, before Hungarian Dominik Szoboszlai equalized for Liverpool in the (40th) minute, while Argentine Alexis Mac Allister scored the second goal for the English team in the (50th) minute.
With this result, Liverpool earned their first three points in the tournament, while Atletico Madrid remained without any points.
