تقدم أرسنال بهدفين في الشوط الأول، سجلهما ريكاردو كالافيوري وكاي هافيرتز في الدقيقتين 1 و28، وأضاف مارتن أوديغارد قائد الفريق الهدف الثالث في الدقيقة 48.
وبذلك يحقق الفريق اللندني الدرع الخيرية للمرة الـ18 (الأولى منذ 3 أعوام)، ليقلص الفارق إلى 3 ألقاب فقط مع مانشستر يونايتد متصدر قائمة الأكثر فوزاً بهذه البطولة العريقة التي تجمع بين بطلي الدوري والكأس.
وتوقف رصيد مانشستر سيتي عند 7 ألقاب فقط آخرها في 2024 تحت قيادة مدربه الإسباني جوسيب غوارديولا بنهاية الموسم الماضي بعد مسيرة لامعة امتدت 10 أعوام، ليسلّم الراية إلى الإيطالي إنزو ماريسكا الذي بدأ عهده بخسارة ثقيلة ومقلقة.

With this victory, the London team achieves the Community Shield for the 18th time (the first in 3 years), narrowing the gap to just 3 titles behind Manchester United, who tops the list of most wins in this prestigious tournament that brings together the champions of the league and the cup.
Manchester City's tally remains at only 7 titles, the last of which was in 2024 under the management of their Spanish coach Pep Guardiola at the end of last season, after a brilliant 10-year run, passing the baton to Italian Enzo Maresca, who began his tenure with a heavy and concerning defeat.
