وقال نيمار في تصريحات نقلتها صحيفة «موندو ديبورتيفو» الإسبانية: «مشواري مع منتخب البرازيل انتهى، لقد صنعت التاريخ، وكنت سعيداً للغاية، وبذلت كل ما في وسعي، بل حياتي كلها، لطالما قاتلت وبذلت قصارى جهدي من أجل القميص الأصفر، لكنني الآن لا أرغب في فعل ذلك بعد الآن».
