أشعل الناقد الرياضي محمد البكيري الجدل حول انتخابات الاتحاد السعودي لكرة القدم القادمة، بعد تعليقه على تصريح المخضرم حاتم خيمي، قائلاً: «قيس قبل الغطيس... المهمة ليست سهلة».
وجاء رد البكيري بعدما أوضح خيمي عبر حسابه الرسمي في منصة «X» أنه تلقى العديد من الطلبات بشأن الترشح لرئاسة الاتحاد، مؤكداً أنه لا يزال يدرس الأمر ولم يتخذ قراره النهائي، مشيراً إلى أنه يعكف حالياً على دراسة اللوائح والنظام الأساسي قبل الحسم.
يأتي ذلك بعد إعلان ياسر المسحل أخيراً عدم استمراره في رئاسة الاتحاد السعودي لكرة القدم عقب خروج «الأخضر» من كأس العالم 2026، وتأكيده تقديم استقالته رسمياً خلال اجتماع الجمعية العمومية.
ويواصل المجلس الحالي تسيير أعمال الاتحاد بشكل مؤقت، بانتظار انتخاب مجلس إدارة جديد خلال الأسابيع القليلة القادمة.

Al-Bukairi's response came after Khaimi clarified via his official account on the "X" platform that he had received numerous requests regarding running for the presidency of the federation, confirming that he is still considering the matter and has not made his final decision, indicating that he is currently studying the regulations and the constitution before making a decision.
This comes after Yasser Al-Mashel recently announced that he would not continue as president of the Saudi Football Federation following the exit of "Al-Akhdar" from the 2026 World Cup, confirming that he would officially submit his resignation during the general assembly meeting.
The current council continues to manage the federation's affairs temporarily, awaiting the election of a new board of directors in the coming weeks.
