عبر قائد الفريق المغربي أشرف حكيمي، بمنتخب بلاده إلى الدور ثمن النهائي من بطولة كأس العالم 2026 لكرة القدم، بعدما تغلب على نظيره الهولندي بركلات الترجيح بنتيجة 3-2، عقب انتهاء الوقتين الأصلي والإضافي بالتعادل 1-1، في المباراة التي جمعتهما اليوم على ملعب مونتيري، ضمن منافسات دور الـ32.
وقال: «الحمدلله قدمنا مباراة كبيرة وخلقنا كثيرا من الفرص بعد سيطرتنا على مجريات المباراة»، مقدماً شكره لزملائه اللاعبين على الروح القتالية والمستوى الكبير الذي قدموه في المباراة، وقال: «كنت واثقا من تحقيق النتيجة رغم تأخرنا بهدف الإ أننا واصلنا الضغط حتى تحقق التعادل وتحقيق التأهل عبر ركلات الترجيح لأن لدينا حارسا كبيرا، بونو الذي يعد مصدر اطمئنان لنا».
وأضاف: «لابد أن نركز على المواجهة القادمة أمام المنتخب الكندي السبت القادم، هو منتخب جيد وكبير ونحن نمثل الكرة العربية والأفريقية وثقتي كبيرة بزملائي اللاعبين بأننا سنقدم مباراة تليق بالكرة المغربية».
Moroccan team captain Achraf Hakimi led his national team to the round of 16 of the 2026 FIFA World Cup after defeating their Dutch counterparts in a penalty shootout with a score of 3-2, following a 1-1 draw at the end of regular and extra time, in the match held today at the Monterrey stadium, as part of the Round of 32.
He said: "Thank God we played a great match and created many opportunities after dominating the course of the game," expressing his gratitude to his teammates for their fighting spirit and the high level they showed in the match. He added: "I was confident of achieving the result despite falling behind by a goal, but we continued to apply pressure until we equalized and secured qualification through penalties because we have a great goalkeeper, Bono, who is a source of reassurance for us."
He continued: "We must focus on the upcoming match against the Canadian team next Saturday. They are a good and strong team, and we represent Arab and African football. I have great confidence in my teammates that we will deliver a performance worthy of Moroccan football."
