فسّر مدرب منتخب البرتغال روبرتو مارتينيز قراره بعدم إراحة قائد المنتخب كريستيانو رونالدو أمام كولومبيا، اليوم (الأحد)، في ختام دور المجموعات ببطولة كأس العالم 2026، رغم ضمان التأهل إلى دور الـ32.
وقال مارتينيز رداً على مشاركة رونالدو طوال دقائق مباريات البرتغال في دور المجموعات: «كريستيانو معتاد على التواجد في المكان المناسب في الوقت المناسب، إنه منضبط للغاية في مركزه، كما أنه يخلق مساحات لزملائه».
وأضاف: «حالة رونالدو البدنية والنفسية ممتازة، قد نحتاج إلى إجراء تغييرات في المباراة القادمة، لكننا نبني كل قرار على المعلومات والبيانات المتوفرة لدينا».
رفض المقارنة مع ميسي
ورفض مارتينيز المقارنة بين إراحة ميسي أمام الأردن ومشاركة رونالدو ضد كولومبيا في ختام دور المجموعات، قائلاً: «لا نقارن اللاعبين ببعضهم البعض، هذا ليس احترافياً، إنها مقارنة طفولية».

وتعادل منتخب البرتغال مع كولومبيا بدون أهداف، ليحتل وصافة المجموعة الـ11 بـ5 نقاط، ويضرب موعداً مع كرواتيا يوم الجمعة القادم ضمن منافسات دور الـ32.
Portugal national team coach Roberto Martinez explained his decision not to rest team captain Cristiano Ronaldo against Colombia today (Sunday) in the final group stage match of the 2026 World Cup, despite having secured qualification for the Round of 32.
Martinez said in response to Ronaldo's participation throughout Portugal's group stage matches: "Cristiano is used to being in the right place at the right time. He is very disciplined in his position and creates spaces for his teammates."
He added: "Ronaldo's physical and mental condition is excellent. We may need to make changes in the next match, but we base every decision on the information and data we have available."
Refusal to compare with Messi
Martinez rejected the comparison between resting Messi against Jordan and Ronaldo's participation against Colombia in the final group stage, saying: "We do not compare players with each other; that is not professional. It is a childish comparison."
Fiery clash with Croatia
The Portugal national team drew with Colombia 0-0, finishing second in Group 11 with 5 points, and will face Croatia next Friday in the Round of 32.
