أبدى لاعب نادي التعاون محمد الكويكبي حزنه عقب إعلان مدرب المنتخب السعودي الأول «دونيس» قائمة الأخضر المشاركة في كأس العالم 2026، التي شهدت غياب اسمه عن القائمة النهائية.
ونشر الكويكبي عبر حسابه الشخصي بمنصة «X» عبارة مقتضبة قال فيها: «صبر جميل والله المستعان»، في رسالة عكست حالة الإحباط بعد عدم اختياره ضمن قائمة المنتخب السعودي.
ويأتي استبعاد الكويكبي رغم المستويات المميزة التي قدمها مع نادي التعاون خلال الموسم الحالي، حيث شارك في 24 مباراة بمختلف المسابقات، نجح خلالها في تسجيل 4 أهداف وصناعة 7 أهداف، ليُسهم بشكل مباشر في نتائج فريقه ويقدم واحدًا من أفضل مواسمه مع «سكري القصيم».
ويُعد الكويكبي من أبرز العناصر الهجومية المحلية في دوري روشن هذا الموسم، بعدما قدم مستويات لافتة جعلت جماهير التعاون تطالب بمنحه فرصة التواجد مع المنتخب السعودي خلال المرحلة المقبلة.
Al-Taawoun player Mohammed Al-Kuwikbi expressed his sadness following the announcement by the Saudi national team coach "Dounis" of the list of players participating in the 2026 World Cup, which saw his name absent from the final roster.
Al-Kuwikbi posted a brief statement on his personal account on the "X" platform, saying: "Beautiful patience, and Allah is the helper," in a message that reflected his frustration after not being selected for the Saudi national team.
His exclusion comes despite the impressive performances he has delivered with Al-Taawoun during the current season, where he participated in 24 matches across various competitions, successfully scoring 4 goals and assisting 7 goals, directly contributing to his team's results and having one of his best seasons with "Al-Suqari Al-Qassim."
Al-Kuwikbi is considered one of the most prominent local attacking players in the Roshan League this season, having delivered notable performances that led Al-Taawoun fans to call for him to be given the opportunity to join the Saudi national team in the upcoming phase.
