أكد رئيس الاتحاد الآسيوي لكرة القدم النائب الأول لرئيس الاتحاد الدولي لكرة القدم الشيخ سلمان بن إبراهيم آل خليفة، أن بطولة كأس آسيا تحت 23 عاماً تمثل محوراً أساسيّاً في برنامج تطوير المنتخبات الآسيوية، مشدداً على أن البطولة باتت أداة عملية لإعداد اللاعبين للانتقال إلى المستويات الأعلى قارّياً ودوليّاً.
وأوضح أن المسابقة باتت جزءاً مهمّاً من أجندة الاتحاد الآسيوي، لما توفره من بيئة تنافسية تسهم في رفع جودة الأداء الفني وتقييم جاهزية اللاعبين الشباب، وذلك بالنظر إلى النسخ الأخيرة من البطولة التي عكست تطوراً ملموساً في مستوى المنتخبات الآسيوية، مشيداً بما تشهده المنتخبات المشاركة من تطور فني يعكس التحولات التي تمر بها كرة القدم الآسيوية على صعيد التخطيط والبنية المؤسسية، مبيناً أن ذلك الأمر يمهد الطريق لمشاهدة بطولة قوية ترتقي لتطلعات الجماهير الكروية الآسيوية، وتبرز المواهب الشابة التي ستحمل لواء اللعبة في المستقبل.
وأشاد رئيس الاتحاد الآسيوي لكرة القدم بالجاهزية التنظيمية للمملكة لاستضافة البطولة، مشيراً إلى أن المملكة تملك مقومات البنية التحتية المتقدمة والخبرة المتراكمة في استضافة الأحداث الكبرى، التي تمثل عناصر رئيسة لضمان إخراج البطولة وفق المعايير القارية والدولية المعتمدة.
وأكد أن التعاون المثمر بين الاتحادين الآسيوي والسعودي إضافة إلى دعم الجهات الرسمية في المملكة سيكون له أطيب الأثر في إخراج البطولة بأبهى صورة ممكنة، متمنياً التوفيق والنجاح لكل المنتخبات المشاركة في نقل الوجه المشرق عن كرة القدم الآسيوية في هذا المحفل القاري.
The President of the Asian Football Confederation and the First Vice President of FIFA, Sheikh Salman bin Ibrahim Al Khalifa, affirmed that the AFC U-23 Asian Cup represents a key pillar in the development program for Asian national teams, emphasizing that the tournament has become a practical tool for preparing players to transition to higher continental and international levels.
He explained that the competition has become an important part of the AFC agenda, as it provides a competitive environment that contributes to enhancing the quality of technical performance and assessing the readiness of young players. This is evident from the recent editions of the tournament, which reflected a tangible development in the level of Asian teams. He praised the technical progress witnessed by the participating teams, which reflects the transformations taking place in Asian football in terms of planning and institutional structure, indicating that this paves the way for a strong tournament that meets the aspirations of Asian football fans and highlights the young talents that will carry the banner of the game in the future.
The President of the Asian Football Confederation praised the organizational readiness of the Kingdom to host the tournament, pointing out that the Kingdom possesses advanced infrastructure and accumulated experience in hosting major events, which are key elements to ensure the tournament is conducted according to the approved continental and international standards.
He confirmed that the fruitful cooperation between the Asian and Saudi federations, along with the support of official entities in the Kingdom, will have a positive impact on presenting the tournament in the best possible light, wishing success and achievement for all participating teams in showcasing the bright side of Asian football in this continental event.
