افتتح المنتخب الكاميروني التسجيل في الدقيقة 34 عن طريق جونيور تشاماديو، قبل أن يعزز كريستيان كوفاني تقدم «الأسود غير المروضة» بإحرازه الهدف الثاني مع بداية الشوط الثاني.
وقلص إيفيدينس ماكجوبا الفارق لصالح منتخب جنوب أفريقيا في الدقيقة 88، إلا أن محاولة العودة لم تكتمل في الدقائق الأخيرة من اللقاء.

ومن المقرر أن يلتقي منتخب الكاميرون مع نظيره المغربي، الذي تأهل إلى الدور ذاته بعد فوزه على تنزانيا بهدف دون مقابل، الجمعة القادم، في قمة نارية يتسلح خلالها «أسود الأطلس» بعاملَي الأرض والجمهور.

Evidens Makgoba reduced the deficit for the South African team in the 88th minute, but the attempt to come back was not completed in the final minutes of the match.
