يستهل المنتخب المغربي مشواره في كأس أمم أفريقيا لكرة القدم بمواجهة منتخب جزر القمر غدا (الأحد)، الساعة (10:00) مساء، على ملعب المجمع الرياضي الأمير مولاي عبدالله، في المباراة الافتتاحية للبطولة. وتعتبر هذه المواجهة الثانية بين المنتخبين في تاريخ البطولة القارية، حيث يدخل «أسود الأطلس» المباراة عقب وجودهم في المركز الـ11 عالمياً، فيما يحتل منتخب جزر القمر المركز 108.
والتقى المنتخبان في المواجهات المباشرة من خلال 4 مناسبات سابقة، وكانت السيطرة للمغرب بـ3 انتصارات مقابل تعادل وحيد. وكان أول لقاء جمعهما في التصفيات الأفريقية نسخة 2019، حيث انتصرت المغرب ذهاباً بهدف نظيف وتعادلا إياباً بهدفين لكل منهما، ليكملا مسيرهما معاً نحو النهائيات.
كما تواجه المنتخبان في دور المجموعات بنسخة 2021 في الكاميرون، وانتهى اللقاء حينها بانتصار مغربي بهدفين دون رد سجلهما سليم أملاح وزكريا أبو خلال، قبل تجدد المواجهة بينهما في كأس العرب بقطر في ديسمبر الجاري، حيث كسب أسود الأطلس 3/1.
ويخوض المنتخب المغربي كأس أمم أفريقيا للمرة الـ20 في تاريخه، والخامسة على التوالي منذ 2017، بينما يسجل منتخب جزر القمر حضوره الثاني فقط بعد ظهوره الأول التاريخي في نسخة الكاميرون، ومن المفارقات العجيبة أن جزر القمر ستلاقي مستضيف البطولة للمرة الثانية على التوالي في مبارياتها بكأس الأمم الأفريقية، بعد أن خاضت آخر مواجهة لها في النسخة الماضية أمام «المضيف» الكاميروني وخسرت بصعوبة بهدفين لهدف في دور الـ16.
وبالعودة لنسخة 2021، تأهل المنتخبان معاً من المجموعة الثالثة، حيث تصدر منتخب المغرب المجموعة، وحل منتخب جزر القمر ضمن أفضل الثوالث متفوقاً على منتخب غانا الذي تذيل الترتيب.
ويمتلك المغرب سجلاً رائعاً، إذ توج باللقب عام 1976، وحل وصيفاً عام 2004، ويدخل النسخة الحالية بسلسلة من الانتصارات في مبارياته الافتتاحية بآخر 3 بطولات، مع الحفاظ على نظافة شباكه في آخر 5 مباريات افتتاحية خاضها.
ويعتبر «أسود الأطلس» أول منتخب أفريقي يتأهل لدور نصف نهائي كأس العالم 2022 في قطر، ويدخل منتخب المغرب البطولة بسجل قوي في التصفيات القارية، حيث حقق العلامة الكاملة بـ6 انتصارات، مسجلاً 26 هدفاً، وكان إبراهيم دياز هداف منتخب بلاده بـ7 أهداف.
في المقابل، يملك منتخب جزر القمر طموحاً كبيراً من خلال وجوده في البطولة الأفريقية، وهو واحد من 4 منتخبات تأهلت للنهائيات على مر التاريخ بجانب الرأس الأخضر، ومدغشقر، وموريشيوس.
The Moroccan national team begins its journey in the Africa Cup of Nations with a match against the Comoros national team tomorrow (Sunday) at 10:00 PM, at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Sports Complex, in the opening match of the tournament. This encounter marks the second meeting between the two teams in the history of the continental championship, with the "Atlas Lions" entering the match ranked 11th in the world, while the Comoros team holds the 108th position.
The two teams have faced each other in direct encounters on 4 previous occasions, with Morocco dominating with 3 victories compared to a single draw. Their first meeting was in the 2019 African qualifiers, where Morocco won the first leg with a clean sheet and the teams drew in the second leg with two goals each, allowing them to continue their journey together to the finals.
The teams also met in the group stage of the 2021 edition in Cameroon, where the match ended with a Moroccan victory of 2-0, with goals from Selim Amallah and Zakaria Aboukhlal, before their encounter renewed in the Arab Cup in Qatar this December, where the Atlas Lions won 3-1.
The Moroccan national team is participating in the Africa Cup of Nations for the 20th time in its history, and the fifth consecutive time since 2017, while the Comoros team is making only its second appearance after its historic debut in the Cameroon edition. Interestingly, the Comoros will face the tournament host for the second consecutive time in its matches at the Africa Cup of Nations, having played its last match in the previous edition against the "host" Cameroon and narrowly lost 2-1 in the Round of 16.
Returning to the 2021 edition, both teams qualified together from Group C, with Morocco topping the group and the Comoros team finishing among the best third-placed teams, surpassing Ghana, which finished last.
Morocco has an impressive record, having won the title in 1976 and finishing as runners-up in 2004. They enter the current edition with a series of victories in their opening matches in the last 3 tournaments, while maintaining a clean sheet in their last 5 opening matches.
The "Atlas Lions" are considered the first African team to qualify for the semi-finals of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, and the Moroccan team enters the tournament with a strong record in the continental qualifiers, achieving a perfect score with 6 victories, scoring 26 goals, with Ibrahim Diaz being the top scorer for his country with 7 goals.
On the other hand, the Comoros team has great ambitions through its presence in the African tournament, being one of the 4 teams that have qualified for the finals in history alongside Cape Verde, Madagascar, and Mauritius.
