غادرت بعثة فريق الاتحاد مساء اليوم (الأحد) للعاصمة العراقية بغداد لمواجهة فريق الشرطة العراقي ضمن منافسات دوري أبطال آسيا للأندية النخبة.
وشهدت قائمة الفريق غياب قائد الفريق الفرنسي كريم بنزيما، والهولندي بيرجوين، وعبدالرحمن العبود، ومعاذ فقيهي للإصابة وعدم الجاهزية البدنية، إضافة لغياب مهند الشنقيطي للإيقاف، في حين شهدت القائمة عودة الجزائري حسام عوار بعد تعافيه من الإصابة.
ومن المقرر أن يخوض الفريق حصة تدريبية واحدة قبل مواجهة فريق الشرطة، إذ يسبق الحصة التدريبية مؤتمر صحفي للمدرب البرتغالي كونسيساو قبل أن يحل الاتحاد ضيفاً على الشرطة العراقي عند السابعة من مساء الإثنين القادم ضمن منافسات دوري أبطال آسيا للنخبة.
ويحتل الفريق الاتحادي المركز الـ11 قبل الأخير بالمجموعة، من دون أي نقاط، بخسارتين من الوحدة الإماراتي وشباب أهلي دبي، وبفارق نقطة عن الشرطة العراقي صاحب المركز العاشر.

The Al-Ittihad team delegation left this evening (Sunday) for the Iraqi capital, Baghdad, to face the Iraqi Police team in the AFC Champions League for elite clubs.
The team roster saw the absence of team captain Frenchman Karim Benzema, Dutchman Bergwijn, Abdulrahman Al-Aboud, and Muath Faqihi due to injury and lack of physical readiness, in addition to the absence of Muhannad Al-Shanqeeti due to suspension. Meanwhile, the Algerian Hossam Aouar made a return after recovering from injury.
The team is scheduled to hold one training session before facing the Police team, preceded by a press conference for Portuguese coach Conceição before Al-Ittihad visits the Iraqi Police at 7 PM next Monday in the AFC Champions League for elite clubs.
The Al-Ittihad team currently occupies the 11th place, second to last in the group, with no points, having lost to Al-Wahda of the UAE and Shabab Al-Ahli Dubai, and is one point behind the Iraqi Police, who are in 10th place.
