تنطلق (السبت) القادم، بطولة كأس الخليج تحت 17 سنة، والتي ستقام في دولة قطر في الفترة من 20 سبتمبر إلى 3 أكتوبر 2025، وتجتمع تحت رايتها أبرز المواهب الناشئة في منطقة الخليج العربي للتنافس على لقب البطولة، التي تقام للمرة الأولى تحت مظلة اتحاد كأس الخليج العربي لكرة القدم.
وأكد الأمين العام لاتحاد كأس الخليج العربي لكرة القدم جاسم سلطان الرميحي، على أهمية البطولة الخليجية تحت 17 سنة، منوهاً بأنها تندرج ضمن التزام اتحاد كأس الخليج العربي لكرة القدم برعاية المواهب الكروية الناشئة والشابة في المنطقة.
وأضاف الرميحي: «نتطلع إلى انطلاق البطولة الخليجية للناشئين تحت 17 سنة، والتي تعزز الإرث الذي خلّفته بطولة كأس الخليج، الحدث الرياضي الأعرق في منطقة الخليج العربي. ويسرنا الترحيب بالمشجعين لدعم النجوم الصاعدين ومؤازرة المنتخبات المشاركة».
وتشهد البطولة إقامة 15 مباراة في استاد حمد الكبير واستاد سحيم بن حمد، اللذين يتميزان بسهولة الوصول والإتاحة، مما يضمن تجربة خالية من العوائق للمشجعين من ذوي الإعاقة.
ويعتبر استاد حمد الكبير، بسعته البالغة 13,000 مقعد، الاستاد الرئيسي لنادي العربي القطري، فيما يعد استاد سحيم بن حمد، الذي تبلغ طاقته الاستيعابية 12,000 مقعد، مقراً لنادي قطر الرياضي، وكان قد استضاف مباريات خلال دورة الألعاب الآسيوية «الدوحة 2006»، إضافة إلى العديد من المباريات المهمة الأخرى خلال كأس أمم آسيا قطر 2011.
وتضم الفرق المشاركة 8 منتخبات خليجية، وقد قُسِّمت هذه المنتخبات إلى مجموعتين، حيث يتصدر المنتخب القطري ممثل الدولة المضيفة المجموعة الأولى، إلى جانب منتخبات الإمارات وعُمان واليمن. بينما يتصدر منتخب العراق المجموعة الثانية، إلى جانب منتخبات السعودية والبحرين والكويت.
وتنطلق البطولة في 20 سبتمبر في استاد حمد الكبير، الساعة السادسة مساءً، مع مباراة تجمع منتخبي العراق والكويت. ويستهل العنابي تحت 17 سنة مشواره في البطولة عندما يواجه نظيره اليمني في 21 سبتمبر على استاد حمد الكبير، الساعة السادسة مساءً.
يشار إلى أن استضافة كأس الخليج تحت 17 سنة في قطر 2025 تأتي ضمن موسم كروي حافل في قطر، مع باقة من البطولات المقرر إقامتها في الربع الأخير من العام الحالي، بما في ذلك كأس العالم تحت 17 سنة FIFA قطر 2025™، التي يشارك فيها المنتخب القطري ممثل الدولة المضيفة، إلى جانب منتخبي السعودية والإمارات، وتقام في الفترة من 3 إلى 27 نوفمبر، تليها كأس العرب FIFA قطر 2025™ في الفترة من 1 إلى 18 ديسمبر.

The Gulf Cup Under 17 Championship will kick off next Saturday, taking place in the State of Qatar from September 20 to October 3, 2025. This championship will gather the most prominent emerging talents in the Gulf Arab region to compete for the title, which is being held for the first time under the umbrella of the Arabian Gulf Cup Football Federation.
The Secretary-General of the Arabian Gulf Cup Football Federation, Jassim Sultan Al-Rumaihi, emphasized the importance of the Gulf Under 17 Championship, noting that it falls under the federation's commitment to nurturing emerging and young football talents in the region.
Al-Rumaihi added: "We look forward to the launch of the Gulf Youth Championship under 17 years, which enhances the legacy left by the Gulf Cup, the most prestigious sporting event in the Gulf Arab region. We are pleased to welcome fans to support the rising stars and cheer for the participating teams."
The championship will feature 15 matches at Hamad Al-Kabeer Stadium and Suheim Bin Hamad Stadium, which are known for their accessibility, ensuring a barrier-free experience for fans with disabilities.
Hamad Al-Kabeer Stadium, with a capacity of 13,000 seats, is the main stadium for Al-Arabi SC, while Suheim Bin Hamad Stadium, which has a capacity of 12,000 seats, is home to Qatar Sports Club. It has hosted matches during the Asian Games "Doha 2006," in addition to many other important matches during the AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2011.
The participating teams consist of 8 Gulf teams, which have been divided into two groups. The Qatari team, representing the host country, leads Group A alongside the teams from the UAE, Oman, and Yemen. Meanwhile, Iraq tops Group B, alongside the teams from Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, and Kuwait.
The championship will kick off on September 20 at Hamad Al-Kabeer Stadium at 6 PM, with a match between Iraq and Kuwait. The Qatari Under 17 team will begin its journey in the championship when it faces Yemen on September 21 at Hamad Al-Kabeer Stadium at 6 PM.
It is worth noting that hosting the Gulf Cup Under 17 in Qatar 2025 comes as part of a busy football season in Qatar, with a series of tournaments scheduled to take place in the last quarter of this year, including the FIFA U-17 World Cup Qatar 2025™, in which the Qatari team, as the host country, will participate alongside the teams from Saudi Arabia and the UAE, taking place from November 3 to 27, followed by the FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2025™ from December 1 to 18.
