فاز أرسنال الإنجليزي على مضيفه أتلتيك بلباو الإسباني بهدفين دون مقابل، في اللقاء الذي أقيم مساء اليوم على ملعب «سان ماميس» بمدينة بلباو الإسبانية، ضمن الجولة الأولى من منافسات دوري أبطال أوروبا لكرة القدم.
وسجل لأرسنال البديلان البرازيلي غابرييل مارتنيلي (د:72)، والبلجيكي ليوناردو تروسارد (د:87)، ليحصد أرسنال أول ثلاث نقاط في البطولة، فيما بقي أتلتيك بلباو دون نقاط.
شهد اللقاء سيطرة مبكرة لأرسنال ولكنه لم يتمكن من هز الشباك إلى أن أقدم مدربه ميكيل أرتيتا على الزج بالثنائي غابرييل مارتنيلي وليوناردو تروسارد ليحرز هدفي الفوز عن طريقهما، فقد جاء الهدف الأول بعد أن أرسل تروسارد تمريرة بينية إلى مارتينيلي، لتضعه وجهاً لوجه مع سيمون، الذي كاد يتصدى لتسديدة البرازيلي، لكن الكرة لامست يده واستقرت داخل الشباك هدفاً أول لأرسنال (د:72).
وبعد مرور تسع دقائق تبادل الثنائي الأدوار إذ صنع مارتينيلي لزميله تروسارد بعد أن مرر له الكرة داخل منطقة الجزاء ليسددها تروسارد بقوة في المرمى هدفاً ثانياً لأرسنال (د:87)، لينتهي اللقاء بفوز أرسنال بهدفين دون مقابل.
وبهذه النتيجة يحصد الفريق الإنجليزي أول ثلاث نقاط له وسيلاقي في الجولة القادمة ضيفه فريق أولمبياكوس اليوناني الأربعاء، الأول من أكتوبر، فيما بقي أتلتيك بلباو دون نقاط وسيواجه في اليوم ذاته مضيفه بوروسيا دورتموند الألماني.

The first goal came after Trossard sent a through ball to Martinelli, putting him face-to-face with Simon, who nearly saved the Brazilian's shot, but the ball touched his hand and settled in the net for Arsenal's first goal (72').
After nine minutes, the duo switched roles as Martinelli assisted his teammate Trossard by passing him the ball inside the penalty area, allowing Trossard to strike it powerfully into the net for Arsenal's second goal (87'), ending the match with Arsenal winning two goals to none.
