يشارك منتخبنا الوطني لألعاب القوى في بطولة العالم التي ستقام في العاصمة اليابانية طوكيو خلال الفترة من 13 إلى 21 سبتمبر بمشاركة 5 نجوم يحملون آمال وتطلعات الجماهير الرياضية بتحقيق إنجاز سعودي جديد في عالم ألعاب القوى، ويشارك العداء عبدالعزيز العطافي في سباق 200م، ومحمد تولو في دفع الجلَّة، وحسين آل حزام في القفز بالعصا، وسامي بخيت في الوثب الثلاثي، والعداءة لجين الحميد في سباق 100 متر، وستنطلق النسخة الـ20 من بطولة ألعاب القوى في الملعب الوطني بمشاركة 2000 من أفضل رياضيي العالم من 200 دولة، «عكاظ» تسلط الضوء على نجوم الوطن وأبرز إنجازاتهم قبل ظهورهم العالمي في طوكيو..
عبدالعزيز العطافي «200 متر»
أول الرياضيين السعوديين المتأهلين لبطولة العالم للألعاب القوى كان العداء عبدالعزيز عطافي المصنف الثاني آسيوياً والأول عربياً بعد أن حقق الرقم التأهيلي في سباق 200م خلال البطولة الوطنية لألعاب القوى بالمملكة العربية السعودية بتاريخ 17 مايو الماضي مسجلاً 20.14 ثانية محققاً رقماً شخصياً جديداً ورقما سعودياً قياسياً.
وقدم عطافي موسماً استثنائياً هذا العام، إذ توج بالميدالية الذهبية في سباقي 100م و200م في البطولة العربية التي أقيمت في الجزائر، إضافة لتحقيقه فضية سباق 200م في بطولة آسيا بكوريا الجنوبية بزمن 20.31 ثانية، ويعد عطافي ثاني عداء سعودي يتأهل لمسافة 200 متر في بطولات العالم بعد العداء حامد البيشي الذي شارك في مونديال 2003 وألمانيا 2009.
محمد تولو «دفع الجلّة»
وجاء تأهل محمد تولو البطل السعودي وصاحب الرقم الآسيوي في مسابقة دفع الجلة بعد أن حافظ على مركزه في تصنيف النقاط المؤهل محققاً 1214 نقطة وضعته في المركز الـ24 من أصل 36 مقعداً.
ويعد تولو من أبرز المواهب الصاعدة إذ سبق له التأهل إلى دورة الألعاب الأولمبية في باريس العام الماضي، وتمكن من تحطيم الرقم الآسيوي والسعودي والشخصي في لقاء مدريد مسجلاً 21.80 متر، كما أحرز الميدالية البرونزية في بطولة آسيا الأخيرة التي استضافتها كوريا الجنوبية.
حسين آل حزام «القفز بالعصا»
وجاء تأهل حسين آل حزام بعد أن سجل الموسم الجاري أفضل أرقامه في لقاء «مورفي كلاسيك»، بعدما اجتاز ارتفاع 5.73 متر ليؤكد جاهزيته لمواصلة المنافسة على أعلى المستويات العالمية، وسبق أن حقق آل حزام حامل الرقم القياسي السعودي الميدالية الذهبية في دورة ألعاب باكو2017 برونزية هانغتشو 2022.
ويُعد هذا التأهل الثالث توالياً في مسيرة الوثاب السعودي الشاب بعد مشاركته في بطولتي العالم يوجين 2022 وبودابست 2023، ما يعكس استمرارية حضوره القوي في المحافل الدولية بثبات فني.
ويأتي هذا الإنجاز تأكيداً لمسيرة آل حزام المميزة في ألعاب القوى السعودية، ودليلاً على تطور رياضة القفز بالعصا في المملكة وقدرتها على المنافسة عالمياً.
سامي بخيت «الوثب الثلاثي»
تأهل النجم سامي بخيت لبطولة العالم لألعاب القوى في طوكيو بعد أن حجز مقعده ضمن المقاعد المطلوبة للتأهل بنظام النقاط محققاً 1173 نقطة ليحتل المركز 36.
وتعد هذه المشاركة الأول للنجم سامي بخيت في بطولات العالم للعموم، إذ يمتلك الرقم الشخصي 16.98م، الذي سجله خلال البطولة الوطنية للمملكة في مايو الماضي، وهو ثاني أفضل رقم سعودي بعد الرقم القياسي المسجل باسم سالم الأحمدي 17.07م، كما حقق سامي الميدالية الفضية في البطولة العربية التي أقيمت في الجزائر، ويُعد من المواهب السعودية الواعدة إذ أحرز الميدالية البرونزية الآسيوية تحت 18 سنة في 2022 برقم 14.26، والميدالية الفضية في فئة الشباب بالبطولة الآسيوية في دبي 2024 برقم 15.71م كما شارك في بطولة العالم للشباب في ليما العام الماضي.
لجين الحميد «100 متر»
سجلت العداءة السعودية لجين الحميد حضوراً بارزاً خلال الموسم الحالي، إذ شاركت في البطولة العربية في الجزائر وحققت رقماً سعودياً جديداً في سباق 200م بزمن (25.18ث)، إضافة إلى مشاركتها في سباق 100م بزمن (12.41ث)، كما شاركت في بطولة غرب آسيا للأندية بالدوحة في سباق 400م محققة (59.78ث) وفي سباق 200م (25.85ث).
وعلى هامش الدوري الماسي بالدوحة، أحرزت لجين المركز الثاني في سباق 100م بزمن (14.04ث)، وفي لقاء أوزبكستان شاركت في سباق 200م محققة (26.03ث).
الجدير بالذكر إن هذه المشاركة هي الثالثة للسعودية في سباق 100م للسيدات بعد ظهور العداءتين يارا أبو الجدايل في بودابست 2023، وياسمين الدباغ في يوجين 2022.

Abdulaziz Al-Otaifi "200 meters"
The first Saudi athlete to qualify for the World Athletics Championships was runner Abdulaziz Al-Otaifi, ranked second in Asia and first in the Arab world after achieving the qualifying time in the 200m race during the national athletics championship in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on May 17, recording a time of 20.14 seconds, achieving a new personal best and a Saudi record.
Al-Otaifi has had an exceptional season this year, winning the gold medal in both the 100m and 200m races at the Arab Championship held in Algeria, in addition to winning a silver medal in the 200m race at the Asian Championship in South Korea with a time of 20.31 seconds. Al-Otaifi is the second Saudi runner to qualify for the 200 meters in World Championships after runner Hamid Al-Bishi, who participated in the 2003 and 2009 World Championships in Germany.
Mohammed Tolu "Shot Put"
Mohammed Tolu, the Saudi champion and holder of the Asian record in shot put, qualified after maintaining his position in the qualifying points ranking, achieving 1214 points, placing him 24th out of 36 spots.
Tolu is one of the most prominent rising talents, having previously qualified for the Olympic Games in Paris last year. He managed to break the Asian, Saudi, and personal records at the Madrid meeting, recording a distance of 21.80 meters. He also won the bronze medal at the recent Asian Championship hosted by South Korea.
Hussein Al-Hizam "Pole Vault"
Hussein Al-Hizam qualified after recording his best performance of the season at the "Murphy Classic," clearing a height of 5.73 meters, confirming his readiness to continue competing at the highest global levels. Al-Hizam, the holder of the Saudi record, previously won the gold medal at the Baku 2017 Games and the bronze medal at Hangzhou 2022.
This qualification marks the third consecutive time for the young Saudi pole vaulter after participating in the World Championships in Eugene 2022 and Budapest 2023, reflecting his strong and consistent presence in international competitions.
This achievement confirms Al-Hizam's distinguished career in Saudi athletics and demonstrates the development of pole vaulting in the Kingdom and its ability to compete globally.
Sami Bakhit "Triple Jump"
Star Sami Bakhit qualified for the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo after securing a spot among the required qualifying positions with a total of 1173 points, placing him 36th.
This is Bakhit's first participation in the World Championships for seniors, as he holds a personal best of 16.98m, recorded during the national championship in May. This is the second-best Saudi record after the record held by Salem Al-Ahmadi at 17.07m. Sami also won the silver medal at the Arab Championship held in Algeria. He is considered one of the promising Saudi talents, having won the Asian bronze medal under 18 years in 2022 with a record of 14.26m, and the silver medal in the youth category at the Asian Championship in Dubai 2024 with a record of 15.71m. He also participated in the World Youth Championship in Lima last year.
Lujain Al-Humaid "100 meters"
Saudi runner Lujain Al-Humaid made a notable presence during the current season, participating in the Arab Championship in Algeria and achieving a new Saudi record in the 200m race with a time of (25.18 seconds), in addition to her participation in the 100m race with a time of (12.41 seconds). She also participated in the West Asian Club Championship in Doha in the 400m race, achieving (59.78 seconds) and in the 200m race (25.85 seconds).
On the sidelines of the Diamond League in Doha, Lujain secured second place in the 100m race with a time of (14.04 seconds), and in Uzbekistan, she participated in the 200m race, achieving (26.03 seconds).
It is worth noting that this participation is the third for Saudi Arabia in the women's 100m race after the appearances of runners Yara Abu Jdaileh in Budapest 2023 and Yasmin Al-Dabbagh in Eugene 2022.
