حلم التأهل للمونديال يتأجل
كان منتخب مصر بحاجة إلى الفوز في هذه المباراة للتأهل رسمياً إلى مونديال 2026، إلا أن الحلم تأجل، إذ يحتاج الآن إلى نقطتين من أصل 6 في آخر مباراتين بالتصفيات لضمان التأهل.
وما زال المنتخب المصري في صدارة المجموعة الأولى برصيد 20 نقطة، بفارق 6 نقاط عن أقرب منافسيه منتخب بوركينا فاسو الذي يحتل المركز الثاني.
ويتأهل متصدر كل مجموعة مباشرة إلى مونديال 2026، الذي سيُقام في الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية وكندا والمكسيك، بينما يتوجه أفضل أربعة فرق من أصحاب المركز الثاني إلى الملحق الأفريقي للحصول على فرصة للمشاركة في الملحق الدولي.
