حقق منتخب جورجيا فوزه الأول في تصفيات أوروبا المؤهلة إلى مونديال 2026 بعد تفوقه على ضيفه منتخب بلغاريا بثلاثة أهداف دون مقابل في اللقاء الذي جمع بينهما على استاد بوريس بيشادزي دينامو ارينا بمدينة تبليسي ضمن لقاءات الجولة الثانية من منافسات المجموعة الخامسة.
وساهم نجم باريس سان جيرمان، خفيتشا كفاراتسخيليا في فوز منتخب بلاده جورجيا بإحرازه الهدف الأول، ورغم خسارة جورجيا في الجولة الأولى من تركيا بثلاثة أهداف لهدفين، لكن في لقاء اليوم (الأحد) أمام بلغاريا تمكن منتخب جورجيا من تحقيق انتصار قوي، وافتتح التسجيل في الدقيقة 30 عبر كفاراتسخيليا، ثم أضاف زميله نيكا جاجنيدزه الهدف الثاني لجورجيا (د:44).
وفي الشوط الثاني، أضاف اللاعب جورج ميكاوتادزه الهدف الثالث (د:65)، لينال منتخب جورجيا أول ثلاث نقاط ويحتل المركز الثاني بفارق الأهداف عن تركيا في مجموعة تبدو إسبانيا فيها الأكثر حظاً لنيل بطاقة التأهل المباشر إلى النهائيات.
الجدير بالذكر أنه تم توزيع المنتخبات الأوروبية إلى 12 مجموعة وسيتأهل أبطال المجموعات مباشرةً إلى كأس العالم المقرر في الولايات المتحدة وكندا والمكسيك بمشاركة 48 منتخباً للمرة الأولى، فيما تُحسم البطاقات الأربع الأخرى عبر ملحق قاري من أربع مجموعات.

The Georgian national team achieved its first victory in the European qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup after defeating its guest, the Bulgarian national team, by three goals to none in the match held at the Boris Paichadze Dynamo Arena in Tbilisi as part of the second round of Group 5 matches.
Paris Saint-Germain star, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, contributed to his country's victory by scoring the first goal. Despite Georgia's loss in the first round to Turkey by three goals to two, in today's match (Sunday) against Bulgaria, the Georgian team managed to secure a strong victory, opening the scoring in the 30th minute through Kvaratskhelia, and then adding a second goal by his teammate Nika Jagnidze in the 44th minute.
In the second half, player Giorgi Mikautadze added the third goal in the 65th minute, allowing the Georgian team to earn its first three points and occupy second place on goal difference behind Turkey in a group where Spain appears to be the most favored to secure a direct qualification spot for the finals.
It is worth noting that the European teams have been divided into 12 groups, and the group winners will qualify directly for the World Cup scheduled to be held in the United States, Canada, and Mexico, featuring 48 teams for the first time, while the other four spots will be determined through a continental playoff from four groups.
