قاد النجم الأوروجوياني لويس سواريز فريقه إنتر ميامي الأمريكي للدور نصف النهائي لبطولة كأس الدوريات بإحرازه هدفين لفريقه في اللقاء مع ضيفه تيغريس المكسيكي، والذي انتهى بفوز إنتر ميامي بهدفين لهدف، وضرب موعدا مع أورلاندو سيتي الأمريكي يوم الثلاثاء القادم.
شهد اللقاء غياب الأسطورة الأرجنتينية ليونيل ميسي بعد عودة الإصابة له في مشاركته الأخيرة مع فريقه أمام لوس أنجلوس، ومع ذلك ظهر النجم الأوروجوياني لويس سواريز وتكفل بمهمة تصعيد فريقه للدور نصف النهائي، إذ تمكن من إحراز الهدف الأول لإنتر ميامي من نقطة الجزاء (د: 23)، ورغم عودة فريق تيغريس المكسيكي للقاء بإحرازه هدف التعادل عن طريق أنخل كوريا (د: 67)، إلا أن سواريز ظهر مجدداً وأحرز الهدف الثاني لإنتر ميامي ومن نقطة الجزاء أيضاً (د: 89)، لينتهي اللقاء بفوز ميامي بهدفين لهدف.
وفي اللقاء الآخر، تمكن فريق أورلاندو سيتي الأمريكي من الفوز على تولوكا المكسيكي بركلات الترجيح 6/ 5 بعد انتهاء الأشواط بالتعادل بدون أهداف وبذلك يلتقي إنتر ميامي بنظيره أورلاندو سيتي في نصف نهائي البطولة وذلك صباح يوم الثلاثاء القادم.
كما تمكن لوس أنجلوس غالاكسي الأمريكي من الفوز على باتشوكا المكسيكي بنتيجة 2/ 1، وشهد اللقاء تقدم لوس أنجلوس في الشوط الأول بهدفين دون مقابل، جاء عن طريق كل من: الونسو أسيفيس (بالخطأ في مرمى فريقه 27)، وماركو رويس (د: 37)، وفي الوقت بدل الضائع تمكن باتشوكا من تقليص الفارق بإحرازه الهدف الأول طريق البديل المياو (د: 90+6)، ليتأهل لوس أنجلوس للدور نصف النهائي ويضرب موعداً صباح يوم الثلاثاء مع نظيره سياتيل ساونديرز والذي تجاوز بويبلا المكسيكي بركلات الترجيح 4/ 3 بعد انتهاء الأشواط الأصلية بالتعادل بدون أهداف.

The match saw Los Angeles take the lead in the first half with two goals to none, scored by Alonso Aceves (own goal 27') and Marco Reus (37'). In stoppage time, Pachuca managed to reduce the deficit by scoring their first goal through substitute Miau (90+6'), allowing Los Angeles to advance to the semifinals, where they will face Seattle Sounders, who overcame Puebla on penalties 4-3 after the original time ended in a goalless draw.
