أعلن نادي وست هام الإنجليزي رسمياً عدم تجديد عقد الجامايكي ميكايل أنتونيو، مهاجم الفريق الأول لكرة القدم وهدافه التاريخي، وأنه لن يوقع عقدا جديدا كلاعب في الفريق الأول للنادي، بعد انتهاء عقده في نهاية الموسم الماضي.
المهاجم البالغ من العمر 35 عاما، الذي انضم إلى الهامرز في سبتمبر 2015 قادما من نوتنغهام فورست، خاض 323 مباراة على مدار 10 سنوات، وسجل 83 هدفا، وأصبح بذلك أفضل هداف للنادي في الدوري الإنجليزي الممتاز. كما لعب دورا رئيسيا في إنهاء انتظار وست هام يونايتد لمدة 43 عاما للفوز بلقب كبير، بفوزه في نهائي دوري أوروبا للمؤتمرات 2023 في براغ بعد الفوز على فيورنتينا الإيطالي 2/1.
وأكد النادي الإنجليزي في بيانه أن «اللاعب أظهر شجاعة وتصميماً ملحوظين للتغلب على الإصابات التي تعرض لها في حادثة مرورية في ديسمبر 2024، ما أدى إلى عودته إلى المنافسة على الساحة الدولية في يونيو، حيث شارك كبديل مع جامايكا في مباراة كأس الكونكاكاف الذهبية ضد غواتيمالا. وأخيراً حصل على مزيد من الوقت للعب على أرض الملعب بقميص هامرز عندما لعب 45 دقيقة وسجل هدفين لفريقنا تحت 21 عاما في مباراة ودية ضد بورهام وود».
واختتم نادي وست هام بيانه بقوله: «سيظل ميكايل دائماً عضواً محبوباً ومحترماً في عائلة وست هام يونايتد. وكما هو الحال منذ ديسمبر، سيواصل النادي دعمه ومساعدته في إعادة تأهيله المستمرة، حيث سيوفر له إمكانية الوصول إلى التدريبات والمرافق والرعاية الطبية إذا لزم الأمر، وأخيراً يود الجميع في وست هام يونايتد أن يشكروا ميكايل بصدق على خدمته المتميزة والمتفانية في قميص كلاريت أند بلو على مدار السنوات العشر الماضية. سيتم تكريم مساهمته الرائعة بشكل أكبر عبر قنوات النادي في الأيام والأسابيع القادمة».

West Ham United officially announced that they will not renew the contract of Jamaican striker Michail Antonio, the club's all-time top scorer, and that he will not sign a new contract as a first-team player for the club after his contract ended at the end of last season.
The 35-year-old forward, who joined the Hammers in September 2015 from Nottingham Forest, has played 323 matches over 10 years, scoring 83 goals, thus becoming the club's top scorer in the Premier League. He also played a key role in ending West Ham United's 43-year wait for a major trophy, winning the 2023 UEFA Europa Conference League final in Prague after defeating Italian side Fiorentina 2-1.
The English club confirmed in its statement that "the player showed remarkable courage and determination to overcome injuries sustained in a traffic accident in December 2024, which led to his return to international competition in June, where he came on as a substitute for Jamaica in the CONCACAF Gold Cup match against Guatemala. He finally got more playing time on the pitch in a Hammers shirt when he played 45 minutes and scored two goals for our under-21 team in a friendly match against Boreham Wood."
West Ham concluded their statement by saying: "Michail will always remain a beloved and respected member of the West Ham United family. As has been the case since December, the club will continue to support and assist him in his ongoing rehabilitation, providing him access to training, facilities, and medical care if needed.
