تعرض النجم البرازيلي نيمار للطرد في مباراة فريقه سانتوس أمام بوتافوغو في الجولة 11 من الدوري البرازيلي خلال اللقاء الذي خسره فريقه بنتيجة 1-0.
كان التركيز منصبًا على عودة نيمار إلى التشكيلة الأساسية لسانتوس لأول مرة منذ منتصف أبريل، بعد تعافيه أخيرًا من إصابة أبعدته عن الملاعب لأكثر من شهر.
وكان سانتوس يأمل في الابتعاد عن منطقة الهبوط وتحقيق فوز مهم على أرضه على بوتافوغو - إلى أن قلبت لحظة فوضوية كل شيء.
فبعد حصول نيمار على إنذار في وقت متأخر من الشوط الأول، حصل على البطاقة الصفراء الثانية في الدقيقة 76 بعد لمسه الكرة بيده عمدًا وتسجيل هدف على الطريقة الشهيرة لأسطورة كرة القدم الأرجنتيني دييغو مارادونا. لكن الحكم تنبه لذلك وتم إلغاء الهدف، ومنح الحكم دافي دي أوليفيرا على الفور الكرت الأحمر لنيمار، ليُكمل سانتوس المباراة بعشرة لاعبين في لحظة حرجة.
ويعد ذلك الطرد رقم 12 في مسيرة نيمار مع الأندية التي لعب لها والسادس مع سانتوس.
وبعد المباراة، وجّه نيمار اعتذارًا صادقًا عبر إنستغرام لزملائه وللجماهير، وقال: «الرغبة الشديدة في التسجيل تدفعنا أحيانًا إلى ارتكاب الأخطاء... أريد أن أعتذر لزملائي وللجماهير أيضًا، لقد أخطأت، سامحوني!».
كما أعرب المهاجم البرازيلي عن ندمه لخذلان فريقه، خصوصا بعد تسجيل بوتافوغو هدف الفوز في الدقيقة 86. وكتب: «اليوم، لو لم أُطرد، لحصلنا على النقاط الثلاث بكل تأكيد. لقد لعب الفريق بشكل رائع.. تهانينا للجميع. يمكنكم تحميلي مسؤولية خسارة هذه النقاط الثلاث!».
وشارك نيمار أساسيا لأول مرة بعد تعافيه من الإصابة التي غاب بسببها ما يزيد على الشهر، إذ لعب كبديل في آخر مباراتين.
ومن المرجح أن تكون تلك المباراة هي الأخيرة لنيمار على ملعب فيلا بليميرو معقل سانتوس إذا لم يجدد تعاقده الذي ينتهي بنهاية شهر يونيو الجاري، لأن الفريق سيحل ضيفا على فورتاليزا بعد أيام ثم سيتوقف الدوري حتى منتصف يوليو نظرا لمشاركة 4 فرق في كأس العالم للأندية 2025.
اللقاء شهد أيضا ظهور الفريق بالقميص السماوي لأول مرة وهو نفس القميص الذي ارتداه نيمار مع الفريق في 2011 قبل انتقاله لبرشلونة.
وازدادت مشاكل سانتوس بعدما سجل أرتور هدفا في الدقيقة 86 قاد حامل اللقب لخطف الـ 3 نقاط.
ويعاني سانتوس من انطلاقة ضعيفة في الدوري البرازيلي إذ يحتل المركز الـ 18 برصيد 8 نقاط.
The Brazilian star Neymar was sent off in his team Santos' match against Botafogo in round 11 of the Brazilian league during the encounter that his team lost 1-0.
The focus was on Neymar's return to the starting lineup of Santos for the first time since mid-April, after finally recovering from an injury that kept him off the field for more than a month.
Santos hoped to distance itself from the relegation zone and achieve an important home win against Botafogo - until a chaotic moment turned everything upside down.
After receiving a yellow card late in the first half, Neymar received a second yellow card in the 76th minute for deliberately handling the ball and scoring a goal in the famous style of Argentine football legend Diego Maradona. However, the referee noticed this and the goal was disallowed, and referee Davi de Oliveira immediately issued a red card to Neymar, leaving Santos to finish the match with ten players at a critical moment.
This was the 12th red card in Neymar's career with the clubs he has played for and the sixth with Santos.
After the match, Neymar issued a sincere apology via Instagram to his teammates and the fans, saying: "The strong desire to score sometimes leads us to make mistakes... I want to apologize to my teammates and the fans as well, I made a mistake, forgive me!".
The Brazilian forward also expressed his regret for letting his team down, especially after Botafogo scored the winning goal in the 86th minute. He wrote: "Today, if I hadn’t been sent off, we would definitely have gotten the three points. The team played wonderfully... Congratulations to everyone. You can hold me responsible for losing these three points!".
Neymar started for the first time after recovering from the injury that kept him out for more than a month, having played as a substitute in the last two matches.
This match is likely to be Neymar's last at Vila Belmiro, the home of Santos, if he does not renew his contract, which ends at the end of June, as the team will visit Fortaleza in a few days and then the league will pause until mid-July due to the participation of four teams in the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup.
The match also saw the team wearing the sky blue jersey for the first time, which is the same jersey Neymar wore with the team in 2011 before his transfer to Barcelona.
Santos' problems increased after Arthur scored a goal in the 86th minute, leading the defending champions to snatch the three points.
Santos is struggling with a weak start in the Brazilian league, currently sitting in 18th place with 8 points.
