تُوّج فريق الاتحاد بلقب كأس دوري خادم الحرمين الشريفين للمرة العاشرة في تاريخه، بعد أن انتصر على القادسية بثلاثة أهداف مقابل هدف، في ختام مشوار مميز بدأه بمواجهة العين، ليحصد اللقب الأغلى.
استهل الاتحاد رحلته في البطولة بفوز مريح على العين، أحد أندية الدرجة الأولى، بثلاثية نظيفة دون رد. وواصل مشواره في دور الـ16 بتجاوز الجندل، مفاجأة البطولة، الذي سبق وأقصى الأهلي في الدور الأول، ليعبر الاتحاد بنجاح إلى ربع النهائي بشباك نظيفة.
وفي الدور ربع النهائي، اجتاز الاتحاد عقبة الهلال بصعوبة، بعد تعادل الفريقين 2-2 حتى نهاية الأشواط الإضافية، ليحسم «العميد» تأهله بركلات الترجيح.
وكانت مواجهة الشباب في نصف النهائي لحظة الحسم، إذ حجز الاتحاد بطاقة العبور إلى النهائي بعد فوز مثير بنتيجة 3-2، أحرز هدف الفوز فيه المدافع دانيلو بيريرا، ليقود فريقه إلى النهائي ويظفر بالكأس الغالية أمام بني قادس.
بدأها بثلاثية العين.. وأنهاها بثلاثية الكأس الأغلى..

Al-Ittihad started its campaign in the tournament with a comfortable victory over Al-Ain, one of the first division clubs, winning with a clean sheet of three goals. The team continued its journey in the Round of 16 by overcoming Al-Jandal, the tournament's surprise team, which had previously eliminated Al-Ahli in the first round, allowing Al-Ittihad to successfully advance to the quarter-finals with a clean sheet.
