وجاء تفوق تسيتسيباس في المباراة بواقع 6 - 4 و6 - 4 بعد منافسة استغرقت 98 دقيقة ليحسمها اليوناني ويتأهل بجدارة مستعيدا مستواه المميز بعد تراجع في التصنيف دفع به لخوض هذه البطولة من مرحلة التصفيات.
وبهذه النتيجة يواجه تسيتسيباس صاحب الـ27 عامًا في الدور الثاني اللاعب البرازيلي جواو فونسيكا.
