أعرب مدرب منتخب إنجلترا الألماني توماس توخيل عن استيائه من جماهير «الأسود الثلاثة»، بسبب غياب الحماس والدعم خلال المباراة الودية أمام ويلز، التي أُقيمت على ملعب «ويمبلي»، أمس (الخميس).
وحقق المنتخب الإنجليزي فوزاً سهلاً بثلاثية نظيفة، جاءت جميعها خلال أول 20 دقيقة من اللقاء، وسجلها كل من مورغان روجرز، وأولي واتكينز، وبوكايو ساكا.وفي تصريحات لقناة «ITV Sport» عقب المباراة، وقال توخيل: «أعتقد أن اللاعبين قدموا أداءً رائعاً وكانوا يستحقون دعماً أكبر من الجماهير في المدرجات».
غياب الدعم الجماهيري «أمر محزن»، وأضاف: «كان جمهور ويلز الوحيد الذي يشجع بحماس، وهذا أمر محزن نوعاً ما، لأنني أرى أن فريقي كان يستحق مؤازرة أكبر». ومنذ توليه تدريب منتخب إنجلترا في يناير الماضي، قاد توخيل الفريق لتحقيق ستة انتصارات في سبع مباريات، وكانت الخسارة الوحيدة أمام منتخب السنغال في لقاء ودي.
