خطف موناكو الفرنسي تعادلاً قاتلاً مع ضيفه مانشستر سيتي الإنجليزي بهدفين لكل منهما، في اللقاء الذي جمع بينهما على استاد لويس الثاني ضمن لقاءات الجولة الثانية من دوري أبطال أوروبا.

شهد اللقاء تقدم مانشستر سيتي بعد مرور 15 دقيقة فقط من عمر المباراة عن طريق إيرلينغ هالاند بعد أن مرر بوشكو جفارديول كرة ذكية لهالاند الذي كسر حاجز التسلل وواجه الحارس فيليب كون ليضع الكرة من فوقه وتسكن الشباك هدفاً أول للسيتي (د:15)، ولكن موناكو رد سريعاً عن طريق جوردان تيزيه بعد أن تلقى تمريرة من زميله كريبين دياتا ليسيطر عليها جوردان ويسددها قوية في الزاوية العليا على يسار دوناروما هدف تعادل لموناكو (د:18)، وقبل نهاية الشوط الأول عاد السيتي للتقدم عن طريق هالاند مجدداً بعد عرضية عالية من نيكو أوريلي قفز لها هالاند وحولها برأسه لداخل الشباك هدفاً ثانياً للسيتي (د:44)، وفي الوقت القاتل من عمر اللقاء تحصل موناكو على ركلة جزاء ليسددها بنجاح اللاعب إيريك داير (د:90)، لينتهي اللقاء بالتعادل بهدفين لكل منهما.
وبهذه النتيجة يرفع السيتي رصيده إلى أربع نقاط بعد فوزه في الجولة الأولى على نابولي بطل إيطاليا 2-0، فيما حقّق موناكو أول نقاطه في المسابقة القارية الموسم الجاري بعد سقوطه الكبير أمام كلوب بروغ البلجيكي برباعية مقابل هدف في الجولة الأولى.

Before the end of the first half, City regained the lead through Haaland again, after a high cross from Nico Aurélien, which Haaland jumped for and headed into the net for City's second goal (44'). In the dying moments of the match, Monaco was awarded a penalty, which was successfully converted by player Eric Dier (90'), ending the match in a draw with two goals each.
With this result, City raises its tally to four points after winning in the first round against Italian champions Napoli 2-0, while Monaco achieved its first points in the continental competition this season after a heavy defeat against Club Brugge of Belgium, losing 4-1 in the first round.
