عاد المدرب البرتغالي جوزيه مورينيو إلى بلاده، حيث عبّر عن استعداده لتولي تدريب نادي بنفيكا من جديد، بعد مرور 25 عاماً على تجربته الأولى مع الفريق.
وفي تصريحاته للصحفيين لدى وصوله إلى البرتغال، لم يؤكد مورينيو وجود اتفاق رسمي مع بنفيكا، لكنه لم يُخفِ رغبته في خلافة المدرب برونو لاغي.
لم أفكر مرتين
وقال مورينيو، في تصريحات نقلتها صحيفة «أبولا» البرتغالية: «قبل صعودي إلى الطائرة، سألوني إن كنت مهتماً بتدريب بنفيكا، فقلت نعم، من هو المدرب الذي يرفض بنفيكا؟ ليس أنا».
وأضاف «السبيشال وان»: «عندما طُرحت عليّ فكرة تدريب بنفيكا، لم أفكر مرتين: أنا مهتم».
لا أردّ على الاستفزازات
كما ردّ مورينيو على تصريحات رئيس فنربخشة، علي كوتش، الذي وصف ارتباطه المحتمل ببنفيكا بأنه «صدفة غريبة في الحياة»، قائلاً: «دائماً ما أُغلق صفحة أي نادٍ أغادره، ولا أردّ على الاستفزازات».
وكان فنربخشة قد أقال مورينيو من تدريب الفريق نهاية الشهر الماضي، عقب فشل النادي التركي في التأهل إلى مرحلة الدوري بدوري أبطال أوروبا، بعد خسارته أمام بنفيكا.
The Portuguese coach José Mourinho has returned to his country, where he expressed his readiness to take over the coaching of Benfica again, 25 years after his first experience with the team.
In his statements to reporters upon his arrival in Portugal, Mourinho did not confirm the existence of an official agreement with Benfica, but he did not hide his desire to succeed coach Bruno Lage.
I Didn't Think Twice
Mourinho said, in remarks reported by the Portuguese newspaper "A Bola": "Before I boarded the plane, they asked me if I was interested in coaching Benfica, and I said yes, which coach would refuse Benfica? Not me."
He added, "The Special One": "When the idea of coaching Benfica was presented to me, I didn't think twice: I am interested."
I Don't Respond to Provocations
Mourinho also responded to statements made by Fenerbahçe president Ali Koç, who described his potential link to Benfica as "a strange coincidence in life," saying: "I always close the chapter of any club I leave, and I do not respond to provocations."
Fenerbahçe had sacked Mourinho from coaching the team at the end of last month, following the Turkish club's failure to qualify for the group stage of the Champions League after losing to Benfica.
