تخطى ليفربول الإنجليزي ضيفه أتلتيكو مدريد الإسباني بثلاثة أهداف لهدفين، في اللقاء الذي جمع بينهما على استاد أنفيلد ضمن لقاءات الجولة الأولى من دوري أبطال أوروبا 2025-2026.
شهد اللقاء بداية قوية لليفربول وظهر لأول مرة المهاجم ألكسندر إيزاك بقميص الفريق، وتمكن ليفربول من هز شباك ضيفه أتلتيكو مدريد بالهدف الأول بعد مرور 4 دقائق فقط، فمن كرة ثابتة نفذها محمد صلاح غيّر زميله أندرو روبرتسون اتجاهها لتخدع الحارس يان أوبلاك وتسكن الشباك هدفاً أول لليفربول (د:4)، وبعد دقيقتين تألق محمد صلاح واخترق دفاع أتلتيكو مدريد ليسدد الكرة في الزاوية البعيدة عن الحارس هدفاً ثانياً لليفربول (د:6)، بعد الهدف تراجع أداء الفريق الإنجليزي قليلاً وبدأ أتلتيكو مدريد يأخذ بزمام المبادرة ويشن الهجمات إلى أن تمكن من تقليص الفارق عن طريق لاعبه ماركوس بورينتي (د:45+3)، وفي الدقائق الأخيرة من عمر اللقاء عاد نجم أتليتكو مدريد ماركوس بورينتي ليسدد كرة قوية ارتطمت في قدم لاعب ليفربول البديل أليكسيس ماليستر ليتغير اتجاهها وتسكن الشباك هدف تعادل ثانياً لأتلتيكو (د:81)، وفي الوقت بدل الضائع ومن ركلة زاوية نفذها دومنيك سوبوسلاي حول قائد ليفربول فيرجيل فان دايك الكرة برأسه لداخل شباك أتليتكو هدفاً ثالثاً لليفربول (د:90+2)، وشهد اللقاء بعد هذا الهدف احتجاجاً عنيفاً من مدرب أتليتكو دييغو سيميوني ليمنحه الحكم البطاقة الحمراء، وينتهي اللقاء بفوز ليفربول بثلاثة أهداف لهدفين.

Liverpool overcame their Spanish guest Atletico Madrid with a score of three goals to two, in the match held at Anfield as part of the first round of the UEFA Champions League 2025-2026.
