نجا يوفينتوس من خسارة مؤكدة، بعد أن كان متأخراً بهدفين من مضيّفه بوروسيا دورتموند الألماني حتى الدقيقة (90+3) ومن ثم تمكن الفريق الإيطالي من إدراك التعادل في اللقاء الذي انتهى بنتيجة 4/4 على ملعب إليانز استاديوم في مدينة تورينو الإيطالية في مستهل مشوار الدور الأول من دوري أبطال أوروبا.
شهد اللقاء تعادلاً سلبياً في شوطه الأول، ولكن الإثارة والندية ظهرت بظهور الأهداف الثمانية في الشوط الثاني من المباراة، وسجل رباعية دورتموند كريم أديمي (د:52) وفيليكس نيمشا (د:65) ويان كوتو (د:75) ورامي بن سبعيني من ركلة جزاء (د:86).
فيما أحرز أهداف يوفينتوس كينان يلدز (د:64) ودوسان فلاهوفيتش (هدفين د:68، 90+4) ولويد كيلي (د: 90+6)، ليحصد كل فريق نقطة في بداية المشوار.
بدأت الإثارة عندما تسلم كريم أديمي الكرة خارج منطقة الـ18 وسددها أرضية قوية على يسار الحارس دي غريغوريو هدفاً أول لدورتموند (د:52)، وتمكن يوفينتوس من العودة للقاء بعد تسديدة قوية من كينان يلدز (د:64)، ولم تمر سوى أقل من دقيقة واحدة حتى تقدم دورتموند مجدداً عن طريق فيليكس نيمشا بعد أن استقبل الكرة من أديمي ليسددها قوية في المرمى هدفاً ثانياً لدورتموند (د:65)، واحتاج يوفينتوس إلى 3 دقائق ليدرك التعادل مجدداً عن طريق دوسان فلاهوفيتش (د:68)، وأحرز بعدها دورتموند هدفين إذ أحرز يان كيلي الهدف الثالث (د:75)، ومن ثم رامي بن سبعيني الذي أحرز الهدف الرابع لدورتموند من ركلة جزاء (د:86).
إلا أن يوفينتوس تمكن من العودة للقاء في الوقت القاتل، بعد أن أحرز دوسان فلاهوفيتش الهدف الشخصي الثاني له والثالث لفريقه (د:90+4)، وصنع فلاهوفيتش الهدف الرابع لزميله لويد كيلي (د:90+6)، لينتهي اللقاء بالتعادل 4/4 في واحد من أجمل لقاءات الجولة الأولى للمسابقة.

Juventus needed 3 minutes to equalize again through Dusan Vlahovic (68'), and then Dortmund scored two goals, with Jan Koto netting the third goal (75'), followed by Rami Ben Sabaini, who scored Dortmund's fourth goal from a penalty (86').
